Having a guy who has experience coaching big men could help with a getting a certain 19 CTK kid.

Agree strongly with both of your posts. An article in last week's Charlotte Observer quotes Yurtseven, the transfer big from NC State to GTown, that the entire reason he transferred was the opportunity to learn big man skills from Patrick Ewing
Bring in Eddie Pinckney, aren't he and Mullin friends and isn't he involved in local AAU in some way?
He’s an NBA Assistant Coach
Funny, Pinckney was never ever viewed as an enemy even during his 4 years of Big East wars as a Villanova star. Carried himself in a way and said things that always earned our respect.

I would think Pinckney has a better chance to become a head coach in college then in the NBA. Just look at what happened to Ewing. Maybe the Villanova touch could rub off.

Just curious if anybody knows anything about his situation, but Rob Werdann is a HC in the G league, and has been coaching there for several years. I wonder if he would have any interest in ever returning to SJU.
The fact that there is going to be a staff change indicates Mullin is aware that a change to his staff is needed. Why don't we give him and Goff the chance to make the change? Once the move takes place and any changes to positions on the staff are announced, then we can make our evaluations of what has been done.
Even if he does, which is still only a possibility, he has to be gone.
This change should've happened a month ago.
Make that a year ago.
Not sure who you are saying needs to "be gone", but I agree with the rest of the point. The chance? Live period has started and we're already M.I.A. at events.
Mullin.
Year late and a dollar short.
Oh. Well I'm not ready to say that yet. I really like Chris and want him to succeed. Plus, I have no confidence we'd find someone better.
Someone better?

Agree WIndy City. I luv Mullin. Which makes our current undermanned staff issues and MIA acts all the more tough to take.
Next year is critical for the future of St. John's hoops--both our won/lost record and how we fare with our top recruiting targets.
IMO Kofi is the most critical recruit to our revival since Lew Alcindor and next year's recruiting 'crop' all-in-all the most critical since Fraschilla's in the mid-late 90s.
All of which is why I'm a bit hyper about 'appearances' on the recruiting trail, following a generally dismal 20 years that has seen us eclipsed by small BEC schools, like 'Nova, the Hall, Providence, and Georgetown.
Hoping that 'new' staff hire is real, imminent, and 'big'.

That might've had something to do with the fact that Ewing & Co. had a monopoly on hatred for our opponents.
Rumor is this could happen with one minor change, as well as infusion of college experience, but apparently not Rice. We’ll see.
Minor change, Matic and Richmond switch roles. Matic does have experience as an assistant coach and in recruiting for 2 or 3 years before coming here. Would give us someone else with experience recruiting who could hit the road. Using "infusion" the way you did though could involve bringing someone else in and moving Richmond back to the advisor role.

Thinking getting someone who would provide “an infusion of college experience” and has skills ‘developing bigs’ and might help “with recruiting a certain 2019 CTK Big”, seems somewhat ‘bigger’ than Mr. Mattic.
But who knows.

What I heard the rumor is we'll be getting a new assistant to the traveling secretary. Don't quote me on that though

I hope this comes to fruition. St. Jean is our only coach that came in w exp.and he’s a youngster plus we only have essentially 1 recruiter. Seems like a no brainer to me. Especially since it has been mentioned money is not the reason Mullin hasn't hired anyone.

You would assume but ...

"Minor"? As RedmenNorth would say "plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose".
