St. Thomas Aquinas

watching game on delay, halftime....so far mvouka, williams, ellison, and johnson look lost. mussini and jones look pretty decent. sima is about what i expected. alli looks more erratic than last year......mullin just needs to be his own man, he dent have to be lou.... he needs to find his way and get this team going.

Very little positive to take from this except for ...

... except for I ate a half of an entire pumpkin pie while watching from home. That was the definite highlight of the night. I love pumpkin pie season.

holy crap I did also. Literally half the pie. But I didn't eat the crust. Just the pumpkin :)

It's really amazing.

Just got home from game. Very little positive to take from this except for play of Mussini and Jones. Seeing Louie and JPM greet each other before the game was probably the highlight of the night. Not really to concerned about sloppy play and TOs, think that will work itself out. Really concerned about who's going score for us on a consistent basis, and whether we can develop in to a cohesive defensive unit. Wasn't expecting much this year, but after tonight think I lowered my expectations just a little more.

I was chatting with JPM at that moment Monte. My highlight as well. :)

Just got home from game & wanted to share some positives;

The End :)
I heard it wasn't as hot in the upper level because of no one being there so that's a positive for the 114 crew that went to the game.

Also Olv72 texted me saying it was so bad Ralph wasn't even cursing so that's good for any families that went

His foul mouth odometer was at an all time low. Judging from tonight's game, it will be safe to bring families back to 114. :)

Was staring right at you. Was going to come say hello to JPM but didn't want to interrupt you the other gentleman. Had I known it was you, I would have had no trouble interrupting lol. I was standing just a few feet away from you a little closer to half court , with my daughter, wearing a maroon and gold loyola (high school) sweatshirt. Coincidentally, those were the STA colors. No doubt I confused everyone in my section who saw me wearing STA colors, but rooting hard for SJU. ha

Looking at the current roster, with this level of talent, Mullin needs to scrap his fast-paced shoot the open shot plan and control the offense to a greater extent. Also, need some guys to play defense.

I agree. If we slowed it down, we would have only lost by 15.

Highlight of tonight was seeing Paultzman and weatherman. The team will improve and Ralph will round into form. The over / under is the Syracuse game.

The game was ugly but it is what it is. Exhibition game so lets work out all this stuff now

Shame on all you posters who expected a win vs St Thomas Aquinas

I think we turn it around and win on saturday. We really need Lovett. Wow we had a lot of turnovers.

I mean no disrespect because I am sure you are a wonderful fan and a wonderful person, but where you being sarcastic when you said, "Shame on all you posters who expected a win vs St Thomas Aquinas"? Is expecting for your Big East team not to lose by 30+ to a D2 team at home, really expecting that much?

Myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy BAD! Sorry about that mj!

PS- mj, this isn't directed at you, it is directed at everybody, I was at the game tonight, walked in when it was 22-6, and stayed for the whole thing. Was it fun to watch? No, but with that being said I am understanding of the current situation. Losing 4 Seniors, and then losing Jordan and Obepka hurt. I don't care if it is John Wooden coaching, to say we are in a "rebuilding" phase would be an understatement and Mullin and his staff are out there working and doing the best they can. It is going to take time, maybe even 3 or 4 years before we get to where we want to be and start to reflect the team we are capable of being under Mullin. It is going to be a tough few years, but we have to continue to understand our situation and support the players and the staff as they get this thing going again.

Again, we are a work in progress and that goes for Mullin as well. It is going to take time but we will get there.

Whoa, that was ugly on a level I couldn't have imagined.

A JohnnyFan's thoughts:

1. We will get much better

2. We will lose some games to inferior programs in Nov/Dec.

3. We will struggle through our BE schedule. We will win some, be competitive in some, and get blown out in a few.

4. Experience and mature bodies make a HUGE difference. We are currently light in this area.

5. I am still excited about where our program is.

Obviously we will improve throughout the year but it's still tough to swallow that this team couldn't even be competitive

Hopefully we show up next exhibition
