St. Thomas Aquinas

Mullin at the presser after the game, channeling his inner Iverson...

"WE talkin about an Exhibition....exhibition.....we talking about an exhibition...cmon man....exhibition?"

Nice to see that you ladies are already in mid season form.

At least we are here. I've suffered a number of lows as a fan of this team, but losing to st Thomas aquinas by 25 may just surpass them all
Really? The 1st EXHIBITION game of an ENTIRELY new team put together with essentially leftovers in a matter of months is the low point for you? Wow................

we just have to look for small victories in tonights game like stopping them from scoring 100

Mullin, Zendon and Richmond with any two players would have made it a closer game.

Actually the low point for me is the fact that I participated in this ridiculously nonsensical thread.

Tough to watch.. These kids from Rockland are close to handing us our worst loss in history. If memory serves me that was Kentucky at one point in time. I think the number was 36.
I would put in the scrubs if I were their coach but, then again, maybe he already has.
Let's hope the kids come together by January so we can have a season.
Hey, Messina looks good and Jones is playing OK.

Not surprised they are losing. Team was patched together last minute. This is a 3 to 5 year process. If Rawle, Ahmed and a big come next season, it won't even take 3 years. Williams and Johnson, who will eat minutes all year, haven't played in 2 years. The rest are mainly freshman or bench players. Don't blame Mullin, blame the guy before him who left Mullin with no talent except for low quality personalities who didn't want to be part of the rebuild, as it required too much effort for them.

well anyone worried that redmen.com members would go soft in their criticism of our best player in history being our coach was clearly mistaken

The game was ugly but it is what it is. Exhibition game so lets work out all this stuff now

Shame on all you posters who expected a win vs St Thomas Aquinas

I think we turn it around and win on saturday. We really need Lovett. Wow we had a lot of turnovers.

Just watched the second half, so happy I'm not going to Maui. Don't get me wrong I will be in their corner all year.
A few observations:
1. Defense - absolutely horrendous.
a) leaving feet on fakes
b) no help on drives
c) not getting back on defense
d) rebounding will be a problem
2. Offense
a) Mostly 3 point shots
b) Foul shots terrible
c) Where was Sima?
d) Movement on offense looked good
e) LIke the passing but not the turnovers
f) Offensive rebounding looks to be a problem
3. Didn't see Jones in first half but didn't see much improvement in second half, at least he wasn't hesitant.
4. Amar - you would never think he had any experience last year.
5. Thank God for Mussini.
6. Liked the efforts to drive but so many failed to finish.
7. Didn't appear to be much of a crowd, probably thought this would be a blowout. Yes it was.
8) Can't remember the last time we were blown out by a small school such as St. Thomas Aquinas. Will say they looked excellent though.

you forgot trouble taking the ball out of bounds. Wow that really stood out to me

Team also looked slow in comparison to STAC.

Well the good news is most of our talent were in sweats all night. Lovett was using crutches, balamou with his standard injury du jour, and yakwe and Owens who I guess won't play this year. Ellison is a player and I expect we'll see a lot of improvement as the years goes on, Mussini was our best player but will wear down if he doesn't get some help, Jones showed a lot more aggressiveness I thought but too many turnovers. Sima looks like an NBA talent just to look at him. That's about all the positives I got

Just got home from game. Very little positive to take from this except for play of Mussini and Jones. Seeing Louie and JPM greet each other before the game was probably the highlight of the night. Not really to concerned about sloppy play and TOs, think that will work itself out. Really concerned about who's going score for us on a consistent basis, and whether we can develop in to a cohesive defensive unit. Wasn't expecting much this year, but after tonight think I lowered my expectations just a little more.

Very little positive to take from this except for ...

... except for I ate a half of an entire pumpkin pie while watching from home. That was the definite highlight of the night. I love pumpkin pie season.

The major takeaway from tonight is that, if Lovett does not make it, no way can Mussini play the point. I think Ellison has to be the primary ballhandler, if that is the case, and let Mussini stand there, and shoot threes. Ellison didn't look too good handling it tonight either, but I think he can improve on it.

holy crap I did also. Literally half the pie. But I didn't eat the crust. Just the pumpkin :)
