yeah hence the D1 scholarship. you are a jackass. none of these guys suck. I watch this game and he made mistakes but I rather have him on the court then you and until you can get on the court and play as well as he does stfu.
 
Branch made some mistakes for sure, but I think he has to play a majority of the game. It takes Greene off the ball and makes Greene more valuable shooting. Plus Branch shows that he's got offensive game and get to the rim - which we desperately need.

Defensively, the team as a whole made the same mistake again - but not making the adjustment on Arcidacono on Nova.

Fun game to watch, we all know we have some things to do get where we want.
 
Considering Villanova is not even that good of a team, this is going to be a long year for St. John's

Maybe, we won't be a good team, but losing to 'Nova doesn't automatically put us into the category of having a bad season.

Some of y'all either post on emotion; plumb dumb; or a combo of both.

Exactly. We had them. Amir made a terrible play. Also, Nova just killed us inside. They play a physical power brand of ball. Like a Big East team should.

Has anyone ever seen Greene take the ball to the hoop? I'm not talking about his east-west bullshit that he does on every play with the dribble. Him and branch are garbage. Harrison should bounce after this year. Sampson is not ready. Garrett has a lot of heart. But branch and Greene are not big east caliber players.

Then who will? Branch would get 15 turnovers if he played 30 minutes at the point right now. Obekpa is killing us right now because of his lack of rebounding and offense. He is a fantastic shot-blocker, but he gives us nothing on the glass. Garrett and Sampson are the only guys that rebound on this team and they combine to weight less than Josh Smith.
 
Moving forward, not gonna be pretty when teams start doing what James Bell did to Harrison late in this game.

Face guarding him and basically killing whatever offense we did have.

I thought we played a good game in regulation. Then I think between PG at the point and the rest of the team looking like they were exhausted kind of did us in. We did not play smart in OT!

I'm sure Lavin will continue to recruit 6'6-6'9 kids that are skinny, can run and jump really high, and look great in the lay-up line. But look at Pinkston. He's the anti-Lavin recruit and he ate us for dinner tonight. He's 6'6, stocky, not a great athlete but knows how to play, loves using his body agressively and feasts on soft kids like Sampson, Dom and Amir.

I'll take him anyday over Greene at PG just give him some time to adjust...I love Greene but he needs to play off ball...his salsa at the top of the key is maddening..
 
branch made alot boneheaded plays but i'll give him a pass. it is only his second game. this game i had gut feeling that we were going to brush by. but when overtime came i knew it was over because the foul trouble

We aren't even in this game if Garrett doesn't give us 15 and 9. He is the only guy that understands positioning on this team, and he is the one of two guys rebound.

Well? Did the T cost them the game or not? Kids like Branch are a cancer. Stinks on defense, looks completely lost. On offense he is dribbling like he's at Rucker park, and then he's acting like a punk tossing the white pizza faced kid after the play.

Some people man. I don't know about this board sometimes. At least I know that not everyone on this board is a flip flopped.

Most this board has to be republican with the amount of times they change their mind.

Love this team and I don't care if you all think I'm crazy. I think we have a great club that played a great game tonight.
 
Oh well. This season is over. They wont recover from this. Losing to a Nova team that will finish with a losing record indicates a really horrible season is ahead.

This team will struggle to match the 13 wins of last season. Which will effecively put Lavin on the hot seat by seasons end.
Whether next season is his last will depend on his ability to hire another high caliber Xs & Os specialist. If not, march 2014 is the last we will see of Lavin at St Johns.


This team will have a losing record this year. If Lavin is wise, he starts thinking hard about who he will target during offseason to replace Dunlap, or else his coaching career is over next year
