Nov. 16, 2020) – The Red Storm’s schedule for the start of the 2020-21 season came into clearer focus with the release of game times and television assignments for a majority of the Johnnies’ games in November and December.
The opening game of the season-opening Lapchick Tournament, which was originally announced as a to-be-determined opponent for the Red Storm, will pit St. John’s against Saint Peter’s at 7 p.m. on Nov. 25. That game will air on FS2.
The following day, the Johnnies will make their FS1 debut when they play host to La Salle for a 2 p.m. start on Thanksgiving Day in the second game of The Lapchick Tournament.
On Nov. 30, St. John’s will take on Boston College at 9 p.m. on FS1 in a game that will be held at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
The lone matchup of the non-conference schedule that does not yet have a tip time or television assignment is the Red Storm’s Big 12-BIG EAST Battle contest against Texas Tech on Dec. 3.
St. John’s will return home to host Sacred Heart on Sunday, Dec. 6, in a game that will be broadcast on FS1 at 12 p.m. Two days later on Dec. 8, the Johnnies will welcome longtime local rival Fordham for a game that will tip off at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
Each of the Red Storm’s first four BIG EAST games will air on FS1. The Johnnies will open conference play at Connecticut on Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. before traveling to Butler for a 5 p.m. tilt on Dec. 14. The Red Storm will host No. 11 Creighton on Dec. 17 for a 5 p.m. start before wrapping December with a tilt against Georgetown three days later at 6:30 p.m. Both of those games will be held at Carnesecca Arena.[/quote]
