St. Joe's game

I'm sorry, but Phil Greene is either receiving bad instruction from the coaching staff our just a bonehead on the court. He's horrible shooting, yet he's always handling the ball and settling for deep jump shots. Why is he never slashing and creating or driving for a layup or drawing fouls?

And he was late for dinner and the bus.

36% shooting for St. Johns 48% SJU
outrebounded by 8 (22-14)

they can't stay that hot. It is not like they are taking layups.

Come on guys lets pull this one out.

actually they have cooled off...after that 5 of 6 from three at the start.
that's partly why the first five minutes are going to be key. we need to establish
our aggressiveness this half, not the other way.

And the beat goes on and on and on.. . Clank, Clank, Clank..36% from the field!!!!!

Yes folks..the St. John's 2012-2013 will go down in memory as one of the worst shooting teams in NCAA basketball. I do, however, give coach Lavin major moxie for being consistent in the delivery of his messaging to reporters..

It will be interesting to follow this team next year to see how they improve their shooting.. Me, i just don't see it!

Why does Phil Greene keep shooting these long 2 point shots???? It's maddening! It's not even like they are high percentage shots!

its been said many times on this board but i'll say it again. we need to recruit players that know how to play basketball and not just guys that can run up and down the court

Shooting can be improved but you don't get faster or quicker!

Players late for team meals in a tournament game? This has the earmarks of another embarrassing loss.. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the opponent, we play like bleep against any level.

Lavin's ability to motivate his players seems to have vanished. That's not good for a Coach with expectations.

I think Harkless and Sampson might have been able to offset the major deficiencies of the rest of our players. But, that's just what if wishful thinking.

I wish there was something positive to say about this team but, it's not there.

wow...tournament time and a walk on playing instead of our best three point shooter and other scholarship players.
it's all beyond me. This level of breakdown by a team at the end of a season in the NIT is distressing.

You and a former poster who now inhabits the Jungle are related. The same name applies.

I dont know what's worse, just watching the game, or watching the game and reading these posts. I think I'm done with this thread and will root for a good run instead. It may be a long shot but not as hopeless as the miserable negative posts here.
