St. Francis, Sun. Dec. 6, 11am, FS1 & 970AM

Zags noted there is no timetable for return of Ellison & Williams. He added both will be examined tomorrow, but Ellison is likely to be the first of the two to return.

I know St. Francis isn't a big opponent but school is still in session, where the heck were the students? Crowd actually was a little better than I thought it would be in general.

Durand took over and was exactly what we needed today. The fadeaway jumper on the baseline with around a minute left was a very big shot. We had a big run to close out the first half that saved us, could've been a long day of not for that. Any win is a good win so I'll take it.

That was a run of 19 straight points over about 7 minutes, until St. Francis scored at the halftime buzzer.

Big stat today was the team going 14-16 from the FT line. Honestly, that's what won the game for us.

Where were the students at 11 AM on a Sunday morning?
Hung over from Saturday night

Mike taking in the game with friends

Classic pic. Mike, I hope you asked Santa for a winning season.

Good run by us to end the half.. Durand is hot today, keep feeding him. Hope Sima's ok.

It's no coincidence we went on our run 10 minutes after santa came to sect 114.

The only reason he left is when Ralph started cursing :)

And if Santa wants to come back to 114 for the syracuse game he better bring some hot helpers wearing low cut tops showing cleavage

Its crazy how little respect Jones gets. Just 13 & 9 in a game where we needed every pt and every rebound we got. No mentions of the great passes he has had to Mussini on cuts to the basket (two today and several previously) or the help he gives breaking the press. And trust me we NEED him to break the press. He is not a perfect player, not even close, but if his name was anything else and he was a JUCO brought in by mullin for the next two years everyone would be happy to have him. Instead we pick his game apart.

Not particularly interested in fast forwarding my life, but October of 16 can't come soon enough. Root canal games!

I was saying the same thing. Next season can't get here soon enough :)

Jones doesn't have the best instincts for sure but I like him. I think he is definitely serviceable.

Sometimes it almost feels like to me he doesn't realize how big he really is and what he could do with his body

Jones a work in progress. Sure wish we'd focus on how much he's improved under this staff and since last year, as opposed to the flaws in his game. While comparisons to Grant and Lamont are not warranted just yet, when all is said and done it wouldn't surprise me in the least if CJ developed in to a very good power forward at this level.

Agree with pretty much everything except one aspect in regards to Norm. Only person that really harped on his coaching record at queens college starting from the point he got hired was Marillac and turns out Marillac was right.

He hasn't reached the middle aged group like some of us although he will get there soon enough :)

Overall Norm has made a nice career for himself and I'm happy for him but he was absolutely the worst coach ever in our school history and probably big east history.

His coaching tree certainly is interesting. Imagine how bad he really was as a head coach with all his assistants landing these other jobs some as head coaches all the while they were sitting on Norm's bench while Norm was a debacle sitting next to them

We should give this more time I suppose. Despite my reservations stated before, he has performed better than most to date. Fair point Monte.

I wanted 10 wins this year and think we're on track. Looking at the schedule there's about 7-8 games we'll have a decent shot at winning. Also I'm sure we'll win a couple games we're not supposed to.

Also realized there's a 12 game stretch starting beginning of January that is going to be absolutely brutal. Assuming Butler will be ranked tomorrow that'll be 7 games against ranked teams and no DePaul/Creighton games. Even the remaining unranked teams will be tough (Georgetown, Hall, Marquette).

Thanks Paultz. Hey I'm not ashamed to admit that I was dead wrong about Felix being a serviceable player this year. I'm actually happy that I was wrong. I think CJ is starting to prove people wrong, and i still see more upside in his game. As you said, time will tell.

The stat of the game(other than dominating the boards) was 14/16 from the stripe.

Other then the Rutgers game, we've shot FTs well all year. We're going to have to continue to do that if we want to be competitive this year.
