Look around the nation man. Every team has significant transfers. I think someone posted staggering stats showing 60% of kids will transfer by year 2.

First, it's 40%. Source:http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/research/tracking-transfer-division-i-men-s-basketball

And yes, most teams have a transfer or two. But we're almost entirely made up of transfers/JUCO kids. That's no way to build a program. They showed a stat in one of the games early this year, we have the most transfers under scholarship in the entire country. That was before Dixon left, but also before Steere arrived, so I'm assuming it still holds true. So let's not pretend like this is a "every body does it" situation, because it's not. No one does it to our degree.

Our last 9 incoming transfers-

Clark- Graduating
Simon- Will be Grad Sr
LJ- Juco which I don't think is the same since immediate eligible.
Keita- subpar play and now other issues arising
Dixon- Gone already
Heron- Was thought to be 1 year player and putting up typical numbers but still question mark to return
Wright- Been very quiet on his front. Not as visible as the next 2.
Caraher- very much up in the air how he translates on BE level
Steer- highly recruited but left his previous school after just 1 game. Fair to proceed with caution.

Transfer U...LOL

Georgetown had 3 true freshmen make the last BE All Freshmen team, SJU's last 4 HS recruits still on roster are Trimble, Earlington, Williams and Roberts...In fact along with Ponds they are the ONLY non transfer-JUCO or otherwise on the roster. Name another BE school that has that type of ratio?

Then ask yourself a serious question. 4 years ago when Chris was hired if I told you the roster 4 years later would be made up of primarily of what Moose just wrote in addition to giving you the record and overall BE finishes in those 4 years would you say that was/is a successful strategy?

We have some pretty talented psychologists and therapists on here who can help you deal with unresolved issues that certainly exist when a 14 year old loses his dad. If you don't know who they are PM me.
Ladies and gents, here he is...your "moral superior". You really are the Teflon Don of the board since Fun left. I give credit where it's due. Notice how quickly he goes from "moral superior" to stating that anyone who loses a parent at a young age has "issues".
Even though I disagreed with your other post, this post by Beast was uncalled for IMO. To use the situation with your dad as, what to me reads like a backhanded insult against someone on a message board is not something I like to see here.

I know what it feels like to have people presume things about me on a message board, and it is frustrating when those people do not truly know you. Our inflated online, behind a keyboard personalities do not match who we really are so I do not care for people to try and personally analyze others. Again I did not like your other post about Mullin but I dont want you to think no one backed you up when it comes to this, cause I do

Thanks Jack, to be honest I regret my last post as the last loss was still too fresh in my mind so I vented a bit. I want standards for the program but I also want Mullin and his fam to heal together and let them know we appreciate them as great people who have done a ton for our program over the years. Tried to word it carefully but may not have come out totally right. We are so overdue to demolish someone if we are angry...hopefully the players rally around coach and act like a wounded, cornered animal against DePaul. Highly doubt Strus drops 36 in a half again. We need ball movement, smart shots, and most of all intensity with a capital I. Let's make the tourney.

Hopefully, we can all take a deep breath and show each other the respect we would like to receive. So much discord and during Lent?
Please no more back and forth. We're supposed to be adults and St. John's fans. Let's discuss and disagree civilly.

I hope his psychologist/therapist reference wasn’t directed at me. If so that’s a low blow. I think about my father and brother every day and would never tell someone how to feel about a loss like that.

As for the “unresolved issues” I take less issue with that. Unresolved may be a bit presumptuous, but there is a certain amount of damage that I think we all carry after losing a parent or sibling at a young age.

In any event, this is one of the worst weeks of Coach’s life so maybe we can hold off on the criticism for a few days.

Some positive exchanges would go a long way toward changing our karma. :)

Didn't Nevada have an entire starting five last season of graduate transfers, and get very deep into the tournament? Wasn't Loyola of Chicago's two best players transfers, and their roster littered with transfers? Seems to me that the only important thing is winning. If we simply had won 2 more games in conference, and maybe one and a 3rd seed, everyone here with common sense would be singing "Happy days are here again".

For public edification, was not directed at you, and I wrote you a detailed PM explaining that. Yes, as someone who lost both parents at a young age, and my wife who lost her Dad at 13 years old, we understand all too well that without working things out with professional help, we carry the burdens of those losses around a long time, sometime for life.
