So....when do we crack the top 25

For those who say "its just a number" …I disagree. Thats something you say when your ranking stinks. You're going to tell me as a St John's fan you weren't excited when you heard we entered the top 25? I sure was. Anything that creates buzz is great for this program. Lets try to fill up the seats at some of these upcoming games and give this team a home court advantage.

All I know is there were a lot of people talking about SJU in my office today and a lot of them saw the Cuse game and word got around quick with the top 25 ranking. A strong SJU team gets a lot of casual fans interested. The analogy that Kranmars made with the Islanders this year is a pretty good one I think

I was in 7th grade last time we were ranked man... Great job johnnies !!!
jesus by the time you turn 21 I'll be pushing 50. lol

And yet, somehow the two of you communicate as peers... I'm not sure what that says about us... I'm closer in age apparently to mjmaherjr than mr. williams.

If you know MattC who posts here or if you have been on this site for awhile reading back like 15 years ago he was posting like Jack. He literally grew up on the boards and I remember all of us talking to him when he was finally searching for colleges and his whole choosing Cuse etc and then I finally got to meet and hang with him in lavins 1st year when we did a bus trip down to Nova and he was going to that game so that moment was real cool. He's a real good guy and now an adult working so for me who enjoys reading all the posts it was nice and now he is a friend and I'll see him after some games this year at the garden and he will get to meet some of the other guys here who he hasn't met yet.

Eventually down the road we will get jack drunk one night and bring him to a strip club after a game. That will be a true redmen.com welcome :)

haha. Let's do it. Jack, grow up quick.

I agree. Hopefully we will get a good crowd on Wednesday but more importantly a more partisan crowd on our side at the garden. it doesn't have to sell out but if we can have a sea of red like the pittsburgh game in 2011. I will be happy.

I love the smell of RELEVANCY in the morning.

Definitely is sweet. Time to have a celebratory glass of wine for this moment :)

As I'm a wine snob, curious as to what you drink

Depends. We have a lot of wine that we bring back home from traveling overseas that we store so i usually tap that. Drank one yesterday Roland Tissier Sancerre when we visited the loire valley several years ago.

I actually love chardonnay's but my fiancee gravitates more to reds.

For Pinot Noir my favorite is from Williams Selyem ( that's where I got engaged at ) they don't make much red zin but what they do make of it I tend to really like also. Red Zin is my fiancees favorite.

For Cab's my favorite is Jordan Cab. Freaking love that wine

Today I'm going to try a wine we loved when we were just down in Urugauy and visited Bodegas Carrau vineyard. A 2012 Tannat Reserve

What do you like ?

Love big Reds. Your fiancée can drink with me. I love Red Zin. My favorites are by Segeshio, which probably has 5 or so different ones. Try the Home Ranch or the Cortina. All are outstanding. BTW....the Italian and Croatian Primitivo is the same as Red Zinfandel and wife swears they have less tannins.

Also like Italian reds, Barolo, Brunello, and Rosso di Montalcino.

Segeshio is in healdsburg right ? Someone here had recommended that we go there when we went to Sonoma but that was going to be the weekend that I proposed and we lost a day to weather and flight cancellations so instead of 2 days we only had 1 in Sonoma which I had wineries already lined up.

We stayed in Healdsburg and thats where Williams Selyem is. That's an awesome area. We went to some really good places that 1 day and it's a beautiful area to drive around in

Yes. It's in Healdsburg. Beautiful country. If you go, try and go for a dinner and wine reception. Check it out on their website.

So apparently some Seton Hall fans are a little miffed at the fact that we are ranked in the AP poll & they are not. I agree with one thing one of their posters stated, if we both keep winning the New Year's Eve game at The Rock will be rocking. ;)

A night to hang with LJSA,Traczok and Oldwestcoast alum after a st johns game after a whirlwind weekend of getting engaged. Doesn't get much better than that :)

Just imagine how great the trip would have been if St. John's didn't play an absolute POS game. :(

But the past is the past. Bring on the next victim! :cheer:

They have beaten no one. Some claim George Washington is a good win, but our Minnesota win is better. They can say what they want about Syracuse, but first OOC team to win at the carrier dome in 7 years and also Syracuse will probably figure out a way to make the NCAAs. And our only loss is to Gonzaga and we passed that eye test in that game.

Seton Hall fans have something real to talk about if they beat Wichita, but for now they should calm down a little and wait to beat someone good before getting on their high horse.

When we came out of dark period under Norm, our fan base was just as overzealous as SH fans are now. With a nice recruiting class & and some solid veterans, why wouldn't they be excited and envious of SJU ranking? In my opinion, we spend too much time worrying about fans of our opponents. I personally think SH will be quite competitive, reside in middle of pack in BE & be an opponent who should be taken seriously.

I doubt they beat WS tonight, know they have not yet played a quality opponent, but feel they have very good potential. Enjoy where we are for now, get to SH game with 11-1 record & win the games we should in BE play. All of this fan bashing is meaningless at the end of the day.

... very true but it is better than bashing your own team and its fans.
