I just hope the team doesn't become complacent over this ranking and let FDU slip by. Congrats, guys. Keep it going right into the dance.

Good point Greg. Not looking past FDU or Fordham, but St. Mary's & LBS are games where we need to have a good crowd at CA & bring our A game. These are two competitive teams with good coaches. I keep thinking of NC Asheville game two seasons ago, where we let up in second half & lost. I have arranged for your "lucky dog" to be seated behind opposition benches if he is up to it.
When we came out of dark period under Norm, our fan base was just as overzealous as SH fans are now. With a nice recruiting class & and some solid veterans, why wouldn't they be excited and envious of SJU ranking? In my opinion, we spend too much time worrying about fans of our opponents. I personally think SH will be quite competitive, reside in middle of pack in BE & be an opponent who should be taken seriously.
I doubt they beat WS tonight, know they have not yet played a quality opponent, but feel they have very good potential. Enjoy where we are for now, get to SH game with 11-1 record & win the games we should in BE play. All of this fan bashing is meaningless at the end of the day.
Excellent point on home & home play. To me beating Cuse on the road in a hostile environment was significant, but not just for breaking the hex or edging a team most here dislike. Winning a very tough road game in tense circumstances should better prepare this veteran group to steal some tough BE road games. Hold serve at home for most part & grab four away games & we should dance. Not easy, but this is what experienced teams do.When we came out of dark period under Norm, our fan base was just as overzealous as SH fans are now. Agreed regarding SHU and think there are a number of other teams you could toss right into a similar analysis. There are not many - if any - clear opportunities for sweeps in conference and certainly there is risk of getting swept. Playing home and home with everyone it's all about sweeps and not getting swept. Very deep conference this year, everyone needs to be taken very seriously as 9-9 can happen easier than we probably think feeling as good as we do right now.

Additional benefit of being ranked:
When you go to ESPN.com / NCAAM during our game, the score is there in the ribbon with that nice # 24 by SJU. No more trolling through all scores / Big East scores to see the Boxscore. Long may it last!

LB State lost by one point at San Diego State last night....that game for us will be far from a walk in the park like FDU or Fordham
Forget far from a walk in the park we will have to be on high alert just to avoid being mugged!I just hope the team doesn't become complacent over this ranking and let FDU slip by. Congrats, guys. Keep it going right into the dance.

One voter, but #15 is cool.
@NJHoopsHaven: My Associated Press Top 25 ballot: St. John's takes a leap. Georgetown, Baylor, Michigan State enter. Who exits?http://t.co/PFDv9zywhs

Two factors lead me to believe we'll be ranked in the teens today in the AP (my guess is #19):
(1) We appeared ranked 12-16 on 9 ballots last week and that is high for a team ranked #24
(2) We weren't ranked at all on 35 ballots
Two convincing wins will retain the already high votes and should get us on most of the ballots that left us off last week. Jumps from the low rankings like this will also help.
SJU should also be ranked on the coach's poll this week.
