Jakucionis, a 6'6" Lithuanian guard who played a couple years for Barcelona just committed to Illinois, and that article (above in dk's post) also mentions that "a flurry of elite international prospects are expected to announce their commitments to some of the top programs in college basketball..."
So, who knows?

The "...level of compensation..." might be more lucrative in the Nil$$$-era than in Europe for many players...making this 'moot' in at least 'some' cases?

It's absurd that the NCAA would say someone's not eligible because of a certain $ money made in Europe when he's probably going to make more here. But this is the NCAA.

Thing that sticks out to me is his FT% dropped from 70% to 55%, poor to no 3pt shooting, and 2 fouls per game w/ only 12 minutes per game.

But that's playing in the pinnacle of Spanish League basketball. I would guess it's probably more competitive than the Big East. Look at their roster, they've got two guys older than me. lol. (Wish I didn't have a flu so I wouldn't be looking this up on a sunny day. lol)

For those Johnny fans who cling to any leaf of false hope, Lefty is almost 4 months younger than Michael Ruzic.
