SJU Power Forward Portal Targets

Watkins waiting till last day to decide draft status? I’d like to know what “options” Braziller is talking about.

Simple decision ..he's getting NIL bids then agents are weighing his likely 2 way contract plus other income opportunities....the financial benefits of college are significant higher for him then going pro. Issue is every kid wants to be in the league and they all think their going to make it, and who knows he might. He's been told that he's a late 2nd rd pick at best. He's agents want him in college. I have heard all along he's likely to return but he's a kid and having raised 3 and worked with hundreds they don't always listen :) but as of Tuesday morning i spoke with 8 people really close to him..6 said college 2 said pro but both trying to tell him to go back. He did not elevate himself enough through the process

Thanks so much for your insight!

I want Watkins but being a Met and ST John’s fan I expect the worst.
If get Watkins I actually like make up of roster and expect us to make the tournament. Shooting would be my only concern, though I am constantly being told Brady Mullin will handle that.
I woke up today fully expecting Watkins to declare because of a father-son promise for a 2nd round selection Bittersweet disappointment.

Sju, if he chooses college, how do you like our chances?

Watkins? Meh.

Can someone please list all the 6'5" power forwards left in the portal from the CHSAA or PSAL who carry a lunch pail and bulldog everywhere around campus?

That's the only scouting report needed for redmen.comers.

I think below average is a stretch. And for what it’s worth, he was a (far) better defensive rebounder than Zuby.

Zuby was an unreal offensive rebounder last year, but below average on the D glass.

Luis as a rebounder is being undersold a bit IMO.
I would agree with Zuby 100%. His athletic ability and motor allowed him to be a freak on the offensive glass, but his positioning and instincts on the defensive side were poor. Plus he sold out for a lot of blocks.

I feel Ledlum was a step slow to the ball and was beaten vertically a lot. Offensively he had really good instincts and hustle.

I felt we were a pretty poor defensive rebounding team.

Could have worded it more clearly than “coming out of the draft” but by stating “not a lock but in good position” know he means he his removing his name from the draft.

Since some people claim I am always right (negative) I am going to reverse course.
Next year rotation:
Zuby
Watkins
Scott
Richmond
Smith

Luis super 6th man
Wilcher
USC kid
Chris Mullin II / Glover
