We have more money than most schools actually, but we're still not in a position to throw around million-dollar deals to three or more kids like Louisville, Kentucky, Baylor, etc. It's interesting that on this board, the consensus seems to be that St John's doesn't have as much money for players as its competitors, but on the Transfer Portal podcasts I've watched, they always say that St. John's has more money to spend on players than other schools. I wonder what information, if any, these different realities are based on.
Zuby is insurance for teams with old school PFs.Can Zuby play some 4 and do we have the option of bringing in a "project" 5 to go with our two seven foot centers?
I worry a lot about last paragraph too. Once he retires I’m afraid of what may happen…which is why we begged for him yrs earlier. We cannot compete without major donations and a HOF caliber coach. We have more money than most schools actually, but we're still not in a position to throw around million-dollar deals to three or more kids like Louisville, Kentucky, Baylor, etc.
The biggest problem I see is that unlike big Southern schools, the money leaves with Pitino. We need to win big enough with him before he rides off into the sunset so that another name coach wants the job and keeps donors excited.
We have the lead when it comes to horse races.......Two of the best jockey's Repole and RP.Two horse race it seems
Just not so, the former is light years more important than the second, just the way it is. Plenty of good teams out there and the vast majority don’t have a HOF coach.I worry a lot about last paragraph too.
