SJU Portal Targets

wasn’t Watkins on the cusp of declaring for draft last year? If so, chances he opts for another year?
Still projected as a mid-late second (at best), so seems like the best financial decision would be going to college. Academics/credits seemed to be main reason he didn't transfer last year. He was very proud/earnest of being first graduate in his family, so it came from a good place.

My probably only issue with Hopkins we couldn’t shoot this year and we add another guy who can score but not from distance. If we have Zuby sim and RJ back we need shooters.
If we had Hopkins yeaterday, it would likely have been a game changer in the inside for us. He can score annd rebound extremely well there.

Anyone think they have interest in Yaxel? I like the sound of Yaxel haha. Can almost hear Minkos call now on a putback by Yaxel!

1) St Johns has a DEEP NIL...they are not messing around. But pls remember so do a lot of other schools
2) 80/90% of kids who release lists of "interested schools" to reporters are lying. You will see SJ listed multiple times when they aren't. I just read a list of a kid im with where he said SJ ....SJ is has never contacted us. I wish.
3) Poaching is NOT a thing. When Dan said 50% of his roster is in contact with other schools hes low. And BTW they have contacted MANY kids on other rosters during this season. These kids get paid and are essentially FA on year-year deals. Like it or not over 80% of kids start understanding their value mid-season.
4) SJ will do VERY VERY well this off-season.
5) Current roster...tough and fluid. IN speaking with an NBA guy this morning he said"12 wasn't a pick last week and isn't now. We are in the win business so who gives a f**k about yesterday. He needs to go back"
6) Don't know where Bryce is thinking. He will cost and comes with risk but he can score, is a tough kid and he will bring a real edge to him

Appreciate it my friend

Since Matt A’s mo was always leaking recruiting news after a bad loss during the Mullin years, I'm impressed with Rick's control of the program.
