I agree with you. I lost interest in hockey, pro football and baseball because of the ever changing rosters. Too many teams. Too many rosters. I fear college basketball on same track. Leagues making sports synonymous with gambling as well. It is a death spiral.

I don’t disagree one bit but the reality makes me sad as hell, just seems like the current “leaders” of the sport are hell bent on destroying it. But then again, aren’t sports just a microcosm of…………….ah, never mind.
 
I wonder how many players get into trouble with the IRS this year. How many can show they actually got paid for use if their name, image and likeness as opposed to playing basketball. Or will that get the school in trouble? I don't know, but I haven't seen a lot of new commercials or print ads involving players here in NC.

The IRS doesn't care why they are paid as long as they pay their taxes.

Could have a lot of fun with Cliff O. posts, but I feel like people have been through the wringer on that one already, from lock to not lock to lock, back to not lock...
 
FWIW, wake me when SJU has a roster for next year and I know what players I should start rooting for; to this admittedly old school dinosaur, this whole ridiculous “whatever it is” NIL / portal fiasco just leaves me cold.
Personally, I think we get Hopkins, Davis and Jones, and change the name of the team to “Mostly SJU With Some BE Sprinkled In For Variety”.
 
Hoping for our first commit soon feels like it’s been quiet lately. Hopefully Cliff and Joseph this week.

Paultz said it would be this week. It's almost COB on Monday (at least for those who work till 5, which does not include me, I usually quit for the day shortly after my morning coffee) AND STILL NO DAMN COMMITMENTS! It's an outrage, I tell you. What, these people expect us to wait THE WHOLE DAMN WEEK before somebody commits?

Have they no respect? Back in the 1950s when Logen was ... well, not "young," but younger ... we just didn't do things that way! I am sure if HURLEY was involved the Mullins Revenge would be fully committed already. I'm actually not sure he hasn't already been committed, he may just be in one of those places where they're allowed to have electronic devices as long as they don't interfere with the ankle bracelets.

Anyway, BRB I gotta go get some NIL money for Matt A.
