I'm just spit balling, obviously. But Pitino may also start Cliff/Mitchell, but not actually play them (+ Luis) together often. Maybe we get a stretch 4 to back Mitchell up, and the line-ups he's in are more like: Wilcher/Davis/Brea/Mitchell/Zuby. We know he uses a big bench, so it wouldn't surprise me if he wants to load up on athletes and defensive guys with high motors, but complement them in different line-ups with guys who can shoot.

I don't think Mitchell is a back-up plan on Cliff but can be off on that.

So now Ledlum is not just a guy who gives great effort (while averaging a whopping 9 points in nearly 30 minutes per game) but he's the key to sustainable greatness?

Would that be the same Clayton who spurned us because, as so many of our fan base claim, he wanted to play closer to home? And now, just a year later, he may be coming here because of his relationship with Rick? Call me skeptical, but I suspect that if Clayton does decide to come here, it's because of only one relationship, and that's the relationship with the big fat check that MR will be writing.

Obviously Pandora’s box has been opened, fans just have to live with it or find other interests. I have pretty much abandoned pro sports over the years, (still clinging to the Mets a bit) and finding it difficult to generate interest in even SJU portaling but that may be a fallout to what I consider to be BE NCAA screwing and a complete surrender by BE “leaders”.
I guess we shall see………….

As I said to an esteemed poster yesterday on the phone "I hate the portal process(FYI I don't blame the players one bit), it feels so wrong. Wake me up when the roster is set and I'll let you know how I feel then". Like you, I don't follow pro sports anymore except football somewhat, and that's only because I enjoy placing small wagers on games.

I can't get connected to our team or our players the way I did in the past. I doubt that I ever will again.
