He's going to have to be able to make a jump shot from the free throw line (at least) if he wants any pro future. Based on a quick reading of random Texas fan posts about him, he can't even do that yet.Dillon Mitchell has not made a 3 in his career, only taking 8. I think he knows his limitations.
So why would we want him, just because he can run the floor beautifully & dunk with great vigor? He's going to have to be able to make a jump shot from the free throw line (at least) if he wants any pro future. Based on a quick reading of random Texas fan posts about him, he can't even do that yet.
Because he has the upside to be an All-Defensive Big East player on Day 1.So why would we want him, just because he can run the floor beautifully & dunk with great vigor?
If we have Cliff, we'll already have that, but still need to score points.Because he has the upside to be an All-Defensive Big East player on Day 1.
I'm just spit balling, obviously. But Pitino may also start Cliff/Mitchell, but not actually play them (+ Luis) together often. Maybe we get a stretch 4 to back Mitchell up, and the line-ups he's in are more like: Wilcher/Davis/Brea/Mitchell/Zuby. We know he uses a big bench, so it wouldn't surprise me if he wants to load up on athletes and defensive guys with high motors, but complement them in different line-ups with guys who can shoot. If we have Cliff, we'll already have that, but still need to score points.
If we aspire to be a sustainably great program, Ledlum should be the priorityRather have Ledlum back as captain than Mitchell.
So now Ledlum is not just a guy who gives great effort (while averaging a whopping 9 points in nearly 30 minutes per game) but he's the key to sustainable greatness? If we aspire to be a sustainably great program, Ledlum should be the priority
Ledlum would never give up.So now Ledlum is not just a guy who gives great effort (while averaging a whopping 9 points in nearly 30 minutes per game) but he's the key to sustainable greatness?
I give up man, you guys win LOL
Bronx Pale Ale?What do Ledlum/rebounding Marillac/Daniss and Mullins Revenge/Posh have in common ?
This conversation is really funny.I'm just spit balling, obviously. But Pitino may also start Cliff/Mitchell, but not actually play them (+ Luis) together often. I don't think Mitchell is a back-up plan on Cliff but can be off on that.
Yes. Clayton would take a bullet for Pitino. A bullet train to Florida! Can’t teach that kind of relationship?I love it. Continuity plus the 2nd year leap I’m expecting from Brady and Wilcher. I love Cliff but i feel like Clayton would take a bullet for Pitino and vice versa. Can’t teach that kinda relationship.
Would that be the same Clayton who spurned us because, as so many of our fan base claim, he wanted to play closer to home? And now, just a year later, he may be coming here because of his relationship with Rick? Call me skeptical, but I suspect that if Clayton does decide to come here, it's because of only one relationship, and that's the relationship with the big fat check that MR will be writing.Yes. Obviously Pandora’s box has been opened, fans just have to live with it or find other interests. I have pretty much abandoned pro sports over the years, (still clinging to the Mets a bit) and finding it difficult to generate interest in even SJU portaling but that may be a fallout to what I consider to be BE NCAA screwing and a complete surrender by BE “leaders”.Would that be the same Clayton who spurned us because, as so many of our fan base claim, he wanted to play closer to home? As I said to an esteemed poster yesterday on the phone "I hate the portal process(FYI I don't blame the players one bit), it feels so wrong. Wake me up when the roster is set and I'll let you know how I feel then". Like you, I don't follow pro sports anymore except football somewhat, and that's only because I enjoy placing small wagers on games.Obviously Pandora’s box has been opened, fans just have to live with it or find other interests. I guess we shall see………….
