Of this list I want Cliff, Brea, Joseph. Hopkins if Ledlum isn’t back.
Cliff and Hopkins are major difference makers. Brea and Dubar are necessary pieces (wings who can shoot). Bensley is a necessity (veteran PG to share time with Wilcher). Davis has talent and would be a nice addition to the roster.

Don't think we have to have these guys specifically, but overall that's what the roster needs - a rim-protecting center who can run the floor, a forward who can score, a couple of wing shooters, and a solid vet PG.

We should all be embracing a Ledlum return. I’m really hoping for it. He plays hard, is a leader and role model for the younger players. Plus he is a STUDENT ATHLETE. Getting a Masters in International Business. Plus plus he is Brooklyn/Staten Island. The perfect combination. A true captain.
If that could happen, it would be. H u g e

What would you prefer? Hopkins and Dubar, or Luis and Taylor returning for a second year in RP’s system?

Chris Ledlum dribbled the ball off his leg out of bounds more than any college basketball player I can remember and his ability to finish around the hoop-kind of important for your starting four man- made me long for the days of Dylan Addae-Wusu. He was completely overmatched on the offensive end.

He is a great kid. He is a tough kid. His effort level is unquestioned and gutting through an injury is admirable.

He is not a Big East level athlete nor are his skills top-of-the-Big East-starter level. If he's our starting 4 next year something has gone horribly wrong. If he wants to sue the NCAA so he can come back and come off the bench for 15-20 minutes a game, fine. Good for the culture and continuity I guess. But as I said in a different thread...the whole reason you hire Rick Pitino is to recruit thoroughbreds (no pun intended), not undersized, unathletic players like Ledlum. There are plenty of athletic 6'9" guys who try really hard too. Lets get one of them.

Don’t you think Pitino would target the best player available at each position if he stood a chance?

was going to comment on the post as well... for me- i might be in the minority - but Luis and Taylor all day.

1. I think Luis is going to be a Stud (if healthy)
2. Love watching kids develop/stay in the Program
3. Hopkins - I recognize he is a POY candidate... but his injury... who in college has come back from that and been the same or better player? Did Justin Moore have the same injury?

What is your expectation stats wise for a “stud”like Luis if healthy on what I think will be a deep team?

you really think Ledlum is unathletic? i thought that was one his top qualities... felt he showcased that, along with his timing, in his offensive rebounding...

For me, I am not sure and that's why I asked the question.

Disagree.

I am late to this, are we talking Hopkins from PC? I know things change but the PC people i know are pretty confident hes going back their.

Looking at what RJ gave this year- broken hand / missed games / shin splints / missed practices... 10.9 ppg / 4.6 rpg in 21 mpg as a true sophmore.

We saw him limited and pulled by Rick in multiple games due to "mental" / bone-headed mistakes... I expect an offseason of player development to help fix a lot of what we "complain" about. His stroke looks much better than what is 3pt% was (20%!!! - horrendous) - so i expect that to improve as well.

A healthy RJ entering next year - I expect to play close to 25-30mpg. A focal point of our Offense- I would expect- 17-20ppg / 7rpg... consistent "wow" plays... and a 50% decrease in "wtf" plays

First half of the season I agree. As season progressed he got a much better feel and understanding of what his own offensive capabilities were at this level. He shot 53% from 2 in BE play which is higher than he ever shot in the Ivy.

I agree on the 20% from 3. He has a nice stroke. 75% from FT is an indicator he can do better. I'd expect the game to slow down for him in his 2nd year with RP. But man, was he frustrating to watch last year.

Good luck on that. Maybe my bench marks are too high, but I consider guys like Sealy, Artest, Mullin, Berry, even Ponds & few other Johnnies as “studs”, term often applied too loosely. Not breaking chops and respect your opinion. RJ is heading into his third year and hopefully he rises to your projected level inclusive of dedication to defending consistently.
