Nice shooter, but wonder if De'Shayne can make the leap to high major level?
Seemed TO-prone in the MAAC, but in Rick we trust.

The ‘school reached out’ list is always funny to me. I remember finishing up my SAT and then having two months of flyers from schools inviting me to their visit days.

I should have put a list together 😝
Monmouth
USC
Wake Forest
Rutgers
Colby
And
William and Mary

Reached out to a young RedStormRising 😀
My mom once told me that I got a flyer in the mail from your-anus. Turns out that there is a college called Ursinus.

I don’t mind loading up on “wings.” In today’s modern, positionless basketball give me a couple legit bigs, a couple legit 1’s (still need an old school, ball handling PG who can quarterback things) but fill up the rest of the roster with “wings.” As long as the staff is recognizing not all wings are equal and the skill sets mesh (for example RJ and Dunlap are both “wings” with extremely different profiles) then just go wherever the talent takes you and get the best guys.

Great post

Coach has his Sears catalog out early this year. Let him make his list and get the guys he wants. Guys that fit his system. Guys that can shoot. Guys that can defend. Guys that can move laterally. It's all good.

I’d rather load up on guards. You won’t lose many games because you have a lack of wings, but you won’t even be able to compete if you can’t match guard play…and big man play can also change the landscape of a game.

Seems like there are plenty of successful teams running out a trio of starters 6’3 and under like Houston.

The beauty of having a 6’11 defensive menace is that you can’t regularly back down a 6’3 guard with a 6’7 wing.

We may be saying the same thing, though.

I think both of you are right.

Looking at a lot of these tournament teams, the teams most successful have guards that can break you down and get a bucket when you need it but also bigs that can block shots and rebound.

But if we can be a team that has dynamic group of guards + bigs willing to do the dirty work, with a lot of wings who can be switched on at D + hit open 3s + create their own shot (RJ Luis, i.e.), then we can really be in business.
