Disagree. 10/3.5/3.5 in the ACC is looking to at least be a big part of the rotation.
He had some pretty mediocre games in the ACC and got a lot more minutes than he deserved because Miami was pretty bad this year.
On the bright side, there is a similarity to Walter Clayton......they are both 6'2"

Unlike last year, we should also remember this. Our staff + Matt had all year scouting guys and hearing who's available. If they find him this intriguing to get him on a visit the first weekend after the season, we should have confidence in his fit + talent level

For instance, if Dunbar and Brea joined those two and the 5th spot went to a high level scorer, I’d gladly close my eyes and wait for the start of the season. Guess that would leave our PF spot a little thin though 🙂
I would feel a heck of a lot better if I was confident of the status of Luis and Taylor before I close my eyes.

I’m sure you mean mediocre stat lines. Who doesn’t have games like that? We aren’t going to bring in exclusively all league level players.

thoughts? we excited about Bensley Joseph?
Yes, our fans are at the delusional portion of the NIL season. The comparisons I’m seeing from our fans are laughable. You want a comp to a former player? Rasheem Dunn with a jumper.

The kid played on a final four team and an elite 8 team and is meant for this style of play unlike Alleyne — who we are all inevitably picturing with the similar resumes.

He played 22 minutes against UConn in the Final Four and shot 3-6, 2-2 from 3, and 2 assists to 0 turnovers…and we are already trying to put him on the bench😂

I don't see the Dunn comparison.

Bensley would be a nice get. But he wouldn't solve for the issue of reliable scoring from the guard positon. I don't think it's delusional to say we should be aiming higher for a starter.

Funny but when I was at the Hofstra game vs Stony Brook I was asking Hofstra fans about “Dunbar” and they didn’t seem to know anything. Wasn’t until later in game realized his name was Dubar and might have been why I got the answers I did (either that or it was just that no one wanted to talk to me 😜).
Was at the same game kranmars. He was very steady that game. Not spectacular but steady.

The much bigger problem this year was reliably terrible defense from the guard position. He helps that from day 1.

Scoring can be something we build cumulatively. We can get a healthy share from really good defense too. We got next to no easy points from defense this year unless the other team was completely careless.

I do think defense was the primary issue of the season. But we were also a team that would go on brutal offensive stretches where we literally didn't score for five, six minute stretches at a time, which cost us against Creighton/Marquette/Seton Hall. I actually really like the signing!

I don't think, however, it's delusional to think we can get one more starting caliber guard on this team with Bensley in tow. Especially since our NIL situation is much improved from last year at this time. We're all expecting (rightfully so) a leap from Sim in Year 2, but it wouldn't be wise if we expected him to be the primary ball handler for 30+ minutes a game (which Bensley does alleviate big time, but if we had another 2-guard we can depend on, it would make it even better).

I agree.
