This is just speculation, but I really think Pitino enjoys the strategy of it and finding loopholes/advantages.

It seems he found a few angles last year and he ended up confirming one of them — the currently unenforceable only 1 free transfer for undergrads policy.

I don’t think he can take being mediocre, though. He won’t tolerate that. That’s what scares me when it comes to him leaving.

Since he was hired, I’ve always felt around year 3 or 4 is when he is going to use Repole to absolutely blitz the field with NIL. There is no putting the toothpaste back into the tube after a program does that so it has to be timed perfectly.

This sucks to say but even Trilli who is the most connected guy on the planet when it’s a deep dive into us not one person even Kellie at the school can say anything is a lock. It’s the NIL world.
