Will feel a lot better once we lockup an athletic shot-blocking big man like Cliff. That’s the #1 need by a mile assuming we return our big 5 of Zuby, Luis, Wilcher, Brady, and Taylor.
The second need is an absolute dog on defense at either the PG spot or a combo. The Miami kid might fit the bill. Javon Small could be an option too. McDaniel from Michigan is probably the most similar to Pitino’s guy Peyton Siva, but he’d really need to have a convincing visit. Posh? Clayton? Posh and Clayton?
A shooter is next. I’d rather not compromise on defense so a 3 and d guy like Dubar would be preferable to a shooter like CJ Wilcher to me. He also unlocks a lot of smaller lineups paired with a bigger wing at the 3 and 4 spots. Dubar very high defensive potential but srictly a point guard-reliant spot up shooter that can rebound.
Get those three and keep the big 5 and anything else is gravy.

Definitely. Winners are always welcome. We might want to wait to see who's available after the Dance is over....
Also, there should be a lot more players flooding the portal on Monday after 32 teams are eliminated from the tournament. But we should have 4 to 7 spots open depending on who stays. No reason not to jump on a couple of these guys immediately if the coaching staff has already identified them as targets. We might want to wait to see who's available after the Dance is over....
Agree. I think priority based on need is C, PG, SF (D and 3), followed by PF and a back-up guard who can shoot the 3 (Alleyne replacement). PG needs to be able to play D, but also needs to be able to score in RP's system. Will feel a lot better once we lockup an athletic shot-blocking big man like Cliff. 3 pt shooting from guards is gravy to me. Obviously would LOVE it but we absolutely need dogs to defend and push the pace first and foremost. We can’t be caught in half court battles 50 possessions a game.Agree. I want two guards to be more annoying and disruptive on defense than Marillac and Mullin’s Revenge discussing Jenkins.
Agree. If we landed Omoruyi, Dubar and McDaniel and retain Wilcher, Dunlap, and Ejafor plus the 3 incoming freshmen you have the makings of a team (and the beginning of some potential continuity). If you return Taylor and/or Luis great; if not then you know the other 2-3 pieces you need to add (basically a power forward, a wing, and a combo-type guard)Will feel a lot better once we lockup an athletic shot-blocking big man like Cliff. I think that makes sense and something along those lines will happen imoAgree. As long as we get a primary scorer that can garner an undefeated record while shooting less than 10 shots.Definitely. Winners are always welcome.
Depending on the quality of point guard we get, that's very solid.I think that makes sense and something along those lines will happen imo
Would prefer a team-first, balanced offense like UConn and others where everyone is involved and loose and the ball moves in the air.As long as we get a primary scorer that can garner an undefeated record while shooting less than 10 shots.
Yup, staff knows that PG is huge slot to fillDepending on the quality of point guard we get, that's very solid.
