sorry if I missed this but is there mutual interest between SJU and Bamba? Kid struggled last year at times but feel like with Rick's coaching and direction he could be a stud
 
So if true, our three centers on the roster going into next season are Zuby, Iwuchukwu, and Maker? Doesn't inspire a ton of confidence IMO, but hey, at least we're on the board - I guess. Still think we need a bonafide starting caliber center. I don't think that's Zuby.

I'm truly not saying this directed at you because I frankly agree. But if you told any of us that our centers would be guys ranked where they were in HS, we wouldn't just be elated -- we'd be dreaming of second weekend in March. It's amazing how much Pitino's elevated our expectations -- in a good and bad way.

I'm thinking that what you're looking for in a C and what Pitino is looking for are two very different things.

So do people think this means we are out on Omoruyi and Williams or we try to play somebody at the 4 and still need another 5? I have no observations on Iwuchukwu, haven't seen him but I know Omoryui and Williams are both 5s having seen them.

Maybe Rick is going to make them power forwards and get a surprise big time center and go for a much bigger team. 🤪
 
Definitely didn't envision the year 2 jump featuring Zuby as our starting center but I suppose year 3 could be special if Zuby and Vince progress under Pitino
 
Last year Conway was our first transfer commit. This year it could be a fringe 5 star prospect with 2 years of eligibility. If he can stay healthy that is a HUGE LEAP in talent acquisition year over year. Enfield is a great recruiter but an average coach at best. I trust Pitino to develop Vince into a good player, on a great team.
 
Most important thing for your center is to be able to defend the position and handle the boards. An offensively skilled center can make a huge impact but are much harder to come by. Ones who can defend and score, even harder.

Seton hall went 13-7 in conference with a 5 man platoon of these 2 guys..

Said it yesterday, if the rest of the roster gets much added punch, our newest potential center trio does not preclude me from thinking we can have a big year.

I’m absolutely fine with a guy like Iwuchukwu. Defense and boards are primary importance. I. Addition our 3 centers would be young, very athletic and two of them are 7’1”. Very, very few offensive stars out there at center. Develop these guys much like UConn did all those years. And frankly once we lock up a center, the rest of our portal is less stressful imo. We certainly need other things Bhutto more of the other positions to go around.
