This is fair… the Duke name carries an aura.

But.. this isn’t Schutt, or some other bench guy… Roach has been been on the floor a ton since stepping on campus…100+ starts… led them in mpg the past 2 seasons…a proven winner.

this would be a Wild portal snag… esp given the comp. I wouldn’t mind not playing them now if they gave us Roach instead lol

I actually don't think Villanova makes a ton of sense. I get the "local-ish" angle and $$$, but would he really want to finish his college career with Kyle Neptune, struggling to be in the top half of the league? Just feel like the money will be there wherever he goes. Georgetown likely won't pursue after getting Peavy and Mack, and Maryland also got a couple guards in the portal (I think).

Our argument can be, we have the best coach in the most convenient destination for his friends/family + be the guy on the team. Money obviously matters, and it's got to be close.

Kentucky was part of his final four as a HSer, so I'd be more worried about them. Not sure he would want to join a crowded backcourt in Arkansas, assuming they get Cal's 5* freshman.

As a guy who was never flirted with or never the recipient of even a girl’s mercy, desperate, last man on earth bang, please extrapolate on your thesis.

Although, I am aware of the premise of paying someone in advance for their services and feign interest. In fact, I was way ahead of the curve, as I funded my own NIL (Non Interested Ladies) pool.
 
Just curious, if you are going to spend that kind of money on a guard (Roach), if available (and not leaving town) wouldn’t it be better spent on Boogie who may be around for more then one season????

Don't think you can pencil in Boogie for a second year in college, and if he does do that, it would be an underwhelming season (e.g. DJ Wagner).

A guy like Roach can be an immediate all-BE guy right away. Boogie probably has a slightly better Wilcher freshman year this coming year.

Actually , Conway did contribute in a few games . Hard nosed player that had a good stroke .
In retrospect , might have bern better if we kept Slazinski rather than Conway , when Ledlum Decommitted from Tennessee . But , I think Slazinski wanted more minutes than he would have gotten here . Conway just wanted to be on the team .

I’m surprised no one has mentioned that Kressa and Slazinski played together at WVA last season . I think Kressa did not play against us , due to a early season injury but , I could be wrong .
Before we turn our nose up on him on this site , remember he was a big time recruit at Arizona before winding up at WVU . Probably thinking he was going there to play for Huggins .

But , who knows all that goes on within these Portal and NIL transactions .
It’s truly free agency .

He did not play because of a impermissible benefits suspension.

But the Kriisa-Slaz connection is a great one. You just have to think they've talked about how Rick is to play for. Great call.

Yes to all that and not a injury but , a typical NCAA BS suspension for 9 games . I also misspelled his name . It’s Kriisa . I think .
Supposedly he was named after Steve Kerr who might have played with Keiisa’s dad , a European pro player .

There is no doubt he can shoot the Ball. You never have enough guys who can shoot and he has 3 point range . It was lacking in our lineup this past season .
He could be a Spencer type guy for us .

Maybe with NIL $$$$ , all these new millionaires might be better taking pictures with a Brinks Guard and Truck .
