50mm…? We building an outdoor court with a couple hoops?

That number seems relatively small for a large construction project in NYC…

Please Opine those with knowledge…
I know Maryland is spending $50 million on the one that is under construction so along with Seton Hall seems to be the going rate. When you get into high level Football the prices get very high.

The ROI on a new on-campus arena with 8-10,000 seats would be just horrible. At a total cost in the $150-200 mm range, we would at most play 10 games or so per season unless we reduced MSG games.

Keep in mind Villanova spent close to $100 mm to renovate the Pavillion. They only chose to renovate because the surrounding towns gave too much pushback over traffic concerns with a new larger arena.

I’m sick of having my knees rammed up under my chin while trying to watch a game!
I believe that there are plans to put seatbacks on the lower bleachers opposite the benches. Without a massive reno to the upper concrete bleachers, not possible. This was going to happen for this season but they ran out of time. We will lose some seating and those ticket prices will certainly increase.

I'm guessing that as/if attendance surges, more games will be moved to garden, alleviating the necessity somewhat.

I sat in bleachers for decades and never minded them that much except when they got too crammed with fans not sitting where their own seats were.

Bottom line is if we are winning I'd rather win and be uncomfortable than have a comfy seat for a .500 7th place team.

Training facility takes priority to attract top players and at a much lower cost than an arena. Athletes couldn’t care less about the seating on campus. What I think will happen next season is full season ticket demand will outstrip supply (for CA games)

YES.... this is priority... I will gladly stand against the railing in Sec 11 if I am watching Top talent dominate
