@Seton Hall, Wed. Jan. 27, 7pm, FS1 & 570 AM

Did anyone hear Tim Brando at the beginning of the game say that in talking to Mullin and regarding his cool demeanor Mullin said to him "We've got our lottery picks on the way. Let's just play on." wonder which lottery picks he's talking about. If anyone dvred the game. It happened in the first couple minutes.

Come on. You know he's talking about Lovett, Ponds, Ahmed, and Owens (and hopefully, that's just for starters). Don't try and read too much into stuff (take it from someone who's been guilty of that, already).

I was busy tonight. Come home and turned it on in the middle of the 2nd half and they were down 28pnts. I was saying wtf is this crap, and to freaking SHU? Turned it off after 5seconds.

Not blaming this on Mullin(this shitty season is on Lavin.), but damn after Syracuse, tell me if anyone here thought it would be this bad.

I won't be watching the Nova game, and to those who go to MSG to watch that massacre and hear all those Nova fans having a great ole dandy time there. You're much better fans then I am.
I couldn't bare it.

But under Mullin, our time is coming. BELIEVE THAT

I'm about to switch to HGTV. Chip and Jo Jo make me happy.

Good night.
I'm about to turn on the show " the profit ". This weeks episode is about not taking the points with sju

The Profit is a really good show
So is Restaurant Startup, also on CNBC, tonight at 10 PM
I'll check that one out at 10. thx !

Let me know what you think about the show
If you like it, CNBC often runs reruns of previous shows at night/overnight
I DVR them and watch when I have insomnia, which happens pretty often

I liked the restaurant show a lot tonight. It was real interesting because I've never tried south african food but I'm dying to go to south africa and I really want to do the great white shark diving in one of those cages

I'll definitely watch that show again

There is a SA restaurant on the upper east side. Kira studied in Cape Town and said the food is great there. Cheap rand...

When you see guys like Balamou and Jones and Amar get a lot of minutes, it helps to understand why Lavin didn't play them a lot. .

No it doesn't. In the first place, he recruited them and hyped each of them as the best player he's ever had do Y since Z. So either he was an incompetent recruiter or a liar, take your pick, And in the second place if he had in fact taught them anything about basketball and given them the opportunity to use what he'd taught them they'd be completely different players now. What you are seeing now is the result of three years of neglect from Steve Lavin, not three years of wise decisions. Both Jones and Balamou have the physical tools to be serviceable players, they just had the misfortune to be coached by a buffoon. Alibegowitch shouldn't have played last year but only because most freshmen should never play ever.

I'm starting to believe those who say that we may not win another game. This is painful to watch.

The only way we can win a game is if Mussini goes off, and DJ too. With Mussini, he is up against it every game as he is guarded by, and has to defend, bigger, stronger more athletic players. Don't know if we have another win in us, but I hope for the team's sake that they pull a rabbit out of a hat before we get shut out in the conference.

We have no true point guard and now no size. It is going to be tough to get a win. You add that to the terrible shooting and it becomes impossible.

Realistically, this season is not what the Program will become, when the rebuilding starts to bring in more talent next year.

This season is entirely on Lavin and his failure to recruit and enroll over his entire tenure here at St John's. He did bring in a good, not great initial group but, really failed the last 2 years. Obepka and Jordan probably should never have been recruited anyway as they obviously had issues beyond the BB court. They quit on the School, and, so be it. Jordan was a headcase and malcontent his entire time here and , while we miss his talent on the Court , his attitude isn't missed. Sure, we could maybe have a few more Wins if they both stayed but, would it have been worth it, in the long run?

Every time I see Lavin on Tv, I wish he would say, He failed at his job here., which is why he is on Fox Sports this season. But, that isn't likely to happen.

Clearly, we do not have the Talent to be Competitive this year and acceptance of that fact, while not soothing the anguish of watching play, has to be tempered against what the future holds.

Yes, it was hard last night watching 2 Brooklyn kids, Whitehead and Carrington, play for Seton Hall, I was thinking Lavin should have gotten 1 of the 2 at least. But, his effort wasn't there in keeping kids here. NYC HS Coaches have confirmed his disdain for local kids.

So, while this YEAR has been a disaster, better days are ahead.

Jones and Amar should have played last year because we had no backups at the 4 and 5. CO was injured and suspended for a nice part of the season ,plus he got in foul trouble at times .BTW ,Jones had nice numbers last night.

During the Syracuse game there was an interview in which Mullin gave Lou credit for Mussini's recruitment. When they cut back to the studio Lavin was quick to credit himself, because he's so, you know, classy. I didn't hear him take credit for Mussini's showing last night, or for Alibeowith's zero point performance, or Balamou's 1 for 8 from the floor. Because the good things are always his personal accomplishments and the bad things are never his fault.

Playing those guys might have queered his contract negotiations.

He did that without their help.
