@Seton Hall, Wed. Jan. 27, 7pm, FS1 & 570 AM

I'm about to switch to HGTV. Chip and Jo Jo make me happy.

Good night.
I'm about to turn on the show " the profit ". This weeks episode is about not taking the points with sju

The Profit is a really good show
So is Restaurant Startup, also on CNBC, tonight at 10 PM
I'll check that one out at 10. thx !

Ok glass half full point of view without alcohol.

Seton hall had so many recruits at the game that this win will be good for them recruiting and good for the big east

Apparently they never actually made it to the game, according to a Zags tweet.

Let me know what you think about the show
If you like it, CNBC often runs reruns of previous shows at night/overnight
I DVR them and watch when I have insomnia, which happens pretty often

I'm starting to believe those who say that we may not win another game. This is painful to watch.

Won't win a game until Sima gets back, that's for sure. If they're not totally ruined by then they should have a chance against DePaul at home, a slim chance but a chance.

tough team to watch...we know the talent level is not there but the decision making and fundmanetals also suck...only bright spot is continued development of Yakwe...starting to wonder if Ellison is a D1 level player (its beyond just being a freshmen)...he plays very soft and does not show flashes of real skill...I expect mistakes and inconsistency...but also expect to see flashes that make me take notice....just don't see it...

Spot on. The only flashes I've seen (and this is REALLY looking deep) was his backcourt trap defense in the Marquette game. Otherwise, he plays smaller than he actually is, slower than he should be, with very little court awareness.

Ellison and Balamou can't be on the court at the same time.

Right on. Thought the same thing in the first half. For a good period of time we had Balamou and Ellison on the court, who shot 3 for 17. Both couldn't make layups if left alone. Is Ellison overrated? As mentioned in one of my previous post he is fundamentally unsound. Balamou plays matador defense. And to think he pouts when taken out of the game. Even though Amar was in la, la land I preferred he play before both of the above.
Hopefully, Mullin spends a great deal of time with fundamentals, team is extremely weak in passing, dribbling and boxing out.

Whitehead really developed nicely for SH after all that drama early on. Seems like he's emerging as a star this year. Wonder if he stays for his junior year.

Not too much to say about us tonight...

I say he goes. Shown maturity, control and leadership, not evident last season. Strong kid who can penetrate and shoot the three.

Honestly, this is what concerns me the most. I understand that we are young and lacking in real talent. However I would still expect to see a disciplined team, solid in fundamentals. I'm not seeing this. In some cases, the effort has been shaky as well. Example: on one play tonight, Whitehead had a steal and was headed for a layup. Ellison has the angle as he was chasing him. I expected some effort to block the shot. Instead, he runs past Whitehead as a layup is completed. That sort of play can't be tolerated.

Right sfter Yakwe made his first first free throw, camera goes to Mullin who says to Slice " that a boy, he's getting better every f*uckin' day"

Classic

Shot 4 for 6 from free throw line, lower trajectory worked.

When you see guys like Balamou and Jones and Amar get a lot of minutes, it helps to understand why Lavin didn't play them a lot. A lot of us, myself included, looked at guys like Balamou and Jones the same way Jets fans looked at the backup QB during most of their history. He is the most popular player until he gets a lot of exposure and then we see why he was a backup QB. Balamou is very athletic, but when you can't shoot are are only 6'3", there is not a lot you can do trying to score inside over guys with at least 6 inches over you.

I'm not concerned about Ellison, since I don't expect him to get a lot of pt next season. Same with Amar. If I'm wrong, expect another very long season.

Yeah, that's pretty much my take on Ellison too. Don't like most of what I see but we need every warm body we can put on the court this year. If he's playing a substantial role next season, somethings gone wrong.

My Top Five Takeaways:

-I continue to like the effort. The guys do play with pride.

-I think I have seen enough of Balamou. Among many other shortcomings, he is a very poor finisher

-Considering the way we are recruiting, Ellison's ceiling is that of a bench player.

-Christian Jones played a nice game

-LOVE Yakwe, The kid is going to get real good.

I normally would like to give Ellison the benefit of the doubt because he is a freshman coming off an injury, but as one poster said, there should be flashes. He is not particularly athletic, not a good shooter, nor a great decision maker,. Coach is giving him every opportunity to play through his mistakes. However, it's possible he would be better off watching and learning for a year. Coach doesn't have that luxury this season.

I like Amar's spirit and effort. He gets a pass from me for his poor play last couple of games. Wish some of the others played as hard as he does. Take him anytime over Balamou or Ellison.

Did anyone hear Tim Brando at the beginning of the game say that in talking to Mullin and regarding his cool demeanor Mullin said to him "We've got our lottery picks on the way. Let's just play on." wonder which lottery picks he's talking about. If anyone dvred the game. It happened in the first couple minutes.

Rough one to watch.

Yakwe is gonna be awesome. Crazy to think that he may be better than Sima.

Nice to see Jones hit a few shots

I liked the restaurant show a lot tonight. It was real interesting because I've never tried south african food but I'm dying to go to south africa and I really want to do the great white shark diving in one of those cages

I'll definitely watch that show again

Maybe St Jean buys the power ball tickets also aside from coaching
