Seton Hall (UBS), Sun., Feb. 18, 5p, FS-1

Pitino is "too honest," and he's better off taking the high road in his pressers. It's exacerbated after each and every grueling loss.
Didn't we used to kill our past coaches for doing that?

Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't (although I agree, the attacks on the players -even if that's not his intention - needs to stop).

If I’m a recruit that would turn me off.
He's talking about the transfers. He wants players to play hard and smart.

Taylor was a bad signing. Dingle is a major disappointment. I'm sure he is super smart but his defense is atrocious. Ledlum is a tireless player who doesn’t have the offensive tools. Luis is the most naturally gifted player but is not "super smart" playing the game.
Jenkins is a good player who feels he needs to provide the offense because the other players are slow to get open.

Seton Hall won on pressure defense that our slow players could not get position and were pressed into bad shots the entire second half.

Soriano should have a focus down low but never got into position for passes.

Finally, the use of Brady was LSD mind bending. Substitutions and their timing is also on Pitino.

I won't be surprised if in the next game Wilcher starts over Dingle. How much worse can he be at this point.

I cannot stand this coach’s substitution patterns. He may have effectively killed 2-3 players basketball careers with how he’s handled them.

But I also believe this coach recognizes the problem and will fix it by next year.
Agreed. Feel bad for Alleyne

That stat from yesterday about how the top 10 power conference teams with the most unique starting lineups this season are among the 10 worst power conference teams extends beyond just the starting lineup. By mid Feb you need to have as close to normal, predictable rotations as possible. That’s how teams gel. I get that none of the peripheral players have really stepped up and commanded bigger roles but this fling you know what at the wall and see what sticks strategy shouldn’t still be employed this late in the season. Not developing a clear rotation yet lands squarely on Rick.

Hasn’t been any real injuries that would throw a wrench in rotations either, we’ve been pretty fortunate on that front all season
