Seton Hall (UBS), Sun., Feb. 18, 5p, FS-1

Just an awful, forgettable season. Never saw a team that was this inept at closing and that’s saying a lot as a St John’s fan.

I really love the coaching Pitino gives in the huddle, I like his honesty and have pretty much always agreed with his analysis of what occurred when he talks post game, I like the level of recruit he’s been bringing in. I get that he can’t shoot & defend for the guys and that this has been a frustrating group but it’s HIS group and he bears the bulk of responsibility for how disappointing they’ve become. Doesn’t mean I’m not glad he’s the coach or that I expect him to fail moving forward but this season against all odds became one of the most frustrating ever and he’s the coach. His team lacked execution when it mattered, his rotation was erratic & overall the team got worse as the season went on rather than better. That’s a subpar coaching job.

Prepare for next season. I see the Dunlap criticism but I’d play him, Wilcher, Luis, Zuby & Glenn Taylor 30 mins a game from now on. I have no clue what Taylor did to become a ghost but we’re lucky if he doesn’t head for the hills. I just want to see Rick invest in the foundation for next season.

Best part of the day is the rest of our 114 crew ready de to floral park for free. Me to Huntington not so lucky

Zuby would not 30 minutes per game. He would foul out long before then.

Blame all around, but I am stunned Rick has had a hard time stopping bleeding many games this year as well as stopping losing streak. I know he can’t play, but surprised so often he has failed to right the ship
The only thing you can point to is lack of discipline.

I guarantee he isn't drawing up plays that end with Ledlum shooting a three.

I honestly think it's the players are simply not good enough and not basketball smart to boot.

And there is no amount of coaching that can change that.

As for recruiting to blame Rick, there were slim pickings and not sure who specifically we shouldn't have gotten than what we got aside from Clayton.

I’m not sure how or why a coach would say this. He is obviously disappointed but not sure what’s gained by that. While they’re “professionals” in a sense, I think it’s finger pointing at the kids he brought here and wasnt able to mold. Maybe his pressers at his other stops were like this but that’s rough.

Honestly a lot of truth to this

Maybe if we had some reporters who actually questioned his decisions instead of asking him shit like “do you regret taking the St. John’s job?”

Rick doesn’t take accountability but our reporters don’t make him answer for any of the shit he does. The subbing patterns have been erratic all year and no one asks him about it ever. It’s embarrassing
