Disagree. Zuby hustled his ass off and Jenkins plays hard every game. Unfortunately, the rest of the team was playing as if they had the night off since coach was absent.
They will pay the price the first practice Pitino is back.
Jenkins did get beaten badly on that blown dunk late. That’s inexcusable.

The positive is his blown defense somehow resulted in him getting fouled after the kid blew the wide open dunk and he actually went to the line for his only FTs.

I can’t even blame my fucking embarrassing prediction on alcohol. It was flat out post covid delusion
Think you should blame it on alcohol, drugs, being concussed, being taken hostage and being dangled off the roof of an eighty story building.

What an aweful game. Worst team has played all year. Clear how much coach means to this team now. Seemed lost from the start. I think because if coach and dingle missing, team can just put this in the rear view and focus ahead.

You have nights when the shots aren’t falling and the bounces don’t go your way. It happens. Biggest issue I have is the effort was just not there. Team looked timid with the ball. Masiello had no answers or adjustments to make and most of the squad was just not going after it.

As great as Joel has become, he’s showing to be more and more of a liability on defense. He has got to focus on improving that part of his game, or the coaching need to switch the D so he’s not coming out of the key.

Zuby was a bright spot tonight. Really moves his feet on defense and offense is improving.

Taylor was decent but has become so timid offensively. Where’d his shot go?

Brady was a no show tonight.

Aleyne just had a very poor game. He’ll bounce back. Needs to practice getting to the basket, too many jumpers.

Wilcher looks like he’s doing a walk through every time he plays. Can somebody please wake him the hell up and tell him he’s playing in the big east? Play like you give a shit. Lazy passes, lazy handling, 0 willingness to go 1x1. Where’s the fire?

Every team has games like this. My silver lining is the emergence of Zuby as a more confident contributor for the rest of the season.

Zuby showed me a lot tonight. His footwork and his touch have really improved. The effort and the D has always been there
If Soriano had Zuby's athletic ability he would be an NBA player. Unfortunately, that is something you are born with. Zuby needs to work on his defense and shooting and he will get major minutes next season.

I think that allot of the reason the offense has regressed is due to point guard play. Jenkins who once moved the ball around the perimeter has relegated his game to too much one on one and he’s not making his chits. Everyone should watch the Utah game again to see the difference and what a once good offense looked like.

I'll begin by saying I haven't read any of the foregoing posts in this thread. (I watch games on delay and turned it off at 70-52.) For starters, if you can't put the ball in the basket (SJ dropped one out of its first eleven shots, and later in the game went 37 minutes without scoring a bucket), fuggedaboudit. If I had a few bucks for every time someone here posted, feed JS in the paint, I'd be able to buy dinner for four at one of my favorite Philly restaurants. But when Soriano sits at the top of the key for half the game, game after game, and occasionally rolls to the basket, there ain't many opprtunites to feed him in the paint. Then, when he finally spends some time in the low post, he's not ready for the double team thrown at him. I can't say the kids didn't play with energy tonight...they did. But they didn't play smart, were sloppy with the ball, and I think it's time we stop thinking of Luis as the second coming of someone, anyone. He's a good-looking prospect but the jury is still out. Way out, IMO. Will someone on the coaching staff please show Dunlap how to throw a fake? I like the kid, but he's looking more and more like a one trick pony...catch and shoot, rinse and repeat. I'll admit, this may have been an easier pill for me to swallow had I not narrowly dodged a heart attack during the game with Creighton, and then sat through the dismantling last night of my Philly Eagles, a team that started the season 10-1. The sports gods are aligned against all the teams I care about. Phillies pitchers and catchers report for sping training in a few weeks, and I shudder to think. It's not easy, being a recovering New Yorker.
