@Seton Hall, Sat., Jan. 18, 8p, FS-1

I have seen a couple of Seton Hall games. They are not on the same level as St. John’s talent wise. We *should* have a big night. Of course the cliche is true that the games are played and decided on the court. Holloway will have them give their best effort because it’s local and personal. Our effort level must match them. As we’ve seen we do start slow sometimes.

I fully expect our defense will give them fits. They’ll keep it close early but SJU pulls away late. Something like 82-65.
I had them +8 last night against Butler because "who the F does Butler think it is being favored by 8 against anyone?". Watching that game I would say the Hall is about the same as Butler. Should be an easy W.

I think it was something like 45 real minutes of no scoring. Maybe the worst game I've ever gone to. the SHU home atmosphere made it so much worse too
Halftime obviously inflating that timespan, but brutal nonetheless. No offense to coach Mas, it gave me mid 2000’s vibes.

My “forget the exasperating times pills” are finally working, just periodic Mike Stephens cold sweats, but starting to fade.

One of my distinct memories from last year's game was the students handing out COVID tests like a bunch of jerks. And somewhere in the second half where they had this big guy spinning around for 30 seconds with a baseball bat and his pants falling off on the screen, with the crowd going crazy. So much insult to injury.

I don't got the Seton Hall venom many of you do. Honestly, I kind of feel bad for their fanbase. Their isn't many of them, and even when they are good no one cares. Literally. Harper's HS games got more attention last year in Northern Jersey than the Hall's surprising season. I'm sure they have some lunatic fans, but you are talking about a fan base that has every little brother complex imaginable wrapped into one. And now they have to deal with this season and losing kids in the portal.

I've never viewed them as a rival. Give me Uconn, Gtown, Nova, Cuse, and even Providence (although the "Boston thing" feeds into that one for sure).

Dinkins has a picture of their lunatic fans at a high school game. Unfortunately those lunatics have seen more success than us but that changes this year

That’s low of them to make Mullin’s Revenge spin around a bat. He may be a lunatic but he’s our lunatic.
