Season Tickets

So for purposes of "where am I gonna sit," here is some back-of-the-envelope LMF math (disclaimer: LMF sucks at math).

The school apparently says there are about 5,500 season tickets.

Assuming the average season ticket package is 3 tickets (total guess), that means there are about 2,000 season ticket holders (by straight math it would be 1,833.33 but I like round numbers, so work with me here).

This would mean the top 5% is about 100 season ticket holders. If they buy 4 tickets each, they get the best 400 seats (assuming they're willing to pay for them, which is a pretty safe assumption with that group; and that would be after the school takes care of whoever else it wants to take care of).

Each increment after that would be about another 400 seats, though at some point it is to be expected that some of the "best available" seats will start to become available to lower point rankings if folks don't want to pay for the best seats.

Bottom line is that given the Garden capacity, I think most folks will be satisfied with where they land - whether they're happy with the prices will be another question. And I don't know what will happen at CA, that may generate less joy for some.

Excellent analysis......thank you.(y)

I also “lost” 20k points but stayed in the same spot percentile wise. Even 5,000 seats isn’t much in the lower bowl at msg so not too worried about any of it.

Somebody subsequently told me that the number of STH's is 800 - that seems very low to me and I am thinking it may be the number of full package STH's and the overall number is probably at least double that. Information is incomplete.

Will the initial selection be limited to the number of full packages only or are the MSG only package holders also included ?

I think there are probably about 3500 full season seats (MSG and Queens) held by about 1500 full season individuals. Center seats in the six middle sections in the 100's at MSG won't be much of an issue. With less than 800 real seats in Queens in the lower bowl, that will create some issues....

How many seats in a row? 20?
6 court facing 100 sections, 2 at midcourt.
10 rows is each section is 200 seats
Times 6 is 1200 seats. Then there are floor seats.

I think each section at MSG has about 400 seats....times 6 equals about 2400 seats....2000 to be safe. There's about 20 rows plus in each section.

sorry if this has already been covered, but do you get points for an MSG plan ticket holder?

per Grok- (X's AI... not bad) - sec 115-119 and 105-109 = approx 3,016 seats.... sec 4-6 /10-12 = 906 seats... so <4k "sideline" seats at MSG

There were 5,500 season tickets last season, but that's now increased. Kull posted on twitter that about 1,500 or so season tickets have been added to the 5,500- (I forget the exact number, someone else posted it here on one of the threads a while ago). Kull also stated the goal was to double the 5,500 by the end of the summer, which I'm sure is just an "aspirational" goal. But assuming they achieve even half of that, you are looking at over 8,000 season tickets this coming year. Question is, where are all the new people coming from and what sections do they want to sit in?

Also during this reseating you can buy up to 6 seats per account (irrespective of how many you currently hold) and the school has no idea how many seats a season ticket holder may choose in July. I’m assuming many will stay the same, but others may increase (or decrease). I’m increasing my number of seats and I’m guessing many others may be doing the same. So it’s possible we get to 6k+ season tickets just with current sth based on people getting more seats than they had previously.
