Season Tickets

Last week I received a call from a young man named Corey Cook regarding season tickets. Today I received this follow up email which I thought I’d share:

If this info hasn’t been posted already I thought it might be of interest to some. Apologies if it’s already been posted, I didn’t go back and check.

Monte - If I understand correctly the $65 price for the Bronze games at MSG cost season ticket holders almost
$70 after the required contribution so in theory that is a discount. CA games are about $25 each for season ticket holders so paying $30 each basically breaks even. I am not sure what the face value of an individual ticket is.

Anyone know if they're continuing the Red Storm Pass? It was super easy and saved me hundreds of dollars. If you don't want season tix and just want to pick out the best 5 games or so, it's very ideal.

Wasn't that intended for students?

Don't you know not to ever do the math, Andrew. It only aggravates.

Not that I know of. It was marketed widely from what I remember last year. I split it with my friend and it was like $180 for 10 games (or 5 games if you're going with a friend). So basically $90 or so each to see 5 of the best games which is an absolute steal especially considering the MSG games were all 100 level. It can easily cost $150+ before fees and taxes for just 1 of those seats at 1 game.

This came up when I googled it. Call the ticket office.
In fairness to the school they are offering a ten month plan to pay off “contributions” and tickets interest free. Makes it easier for me and I appreciate that. Outsourcing the ticket process is a good idea and I am glad they are doing that as well.
Don’t know about anyone else but this ten month plan seems to only be if you don’t actually want any tickets. My account indicates my tickets will not be released unless I pay in full immediately.

For kicks I emailed Cragg and copied Melissa and Paul seeking clarification. I made sure to remind Cragg that two months ago he promised me a call from him and his ticket staff (making sure to show him his email to me) that never occurred as this seemed like a good time to remind him of that. To his credit (?) he quickly replied back that someone from the ticket office would contact me today to discuss with me.

I’m sure you can guess I didn’t get a call or email from anyone. With this ticket staff it will be a wonder if there are 500 people at any games. I sure hope for the University’s sake they are all volunteers because if they are even being paid minimum wage it’s way too much.

By the way I think Cragg has much more important things to worry about than my account and at least he has emailed me back twice. I’m only including him because I thought If he was copied it might motivate the staff. Guess not.

I’ve heard they are wonderful people though!

Anyway I wanted to go Wednesday but who knows? As of now I have no tickets, even though I have been paying my installments every month.

I bought the redstorm pass last year

10 tickets for $175. Must use at least 2 each time

I called the ticket office about a week ago and was told they are not doing it this year

They told me the ten payment plan was a mistake. If that’s how they handled the appeal, I really feel sorry for Rasheem.

A mistake

They told me the same thing in an email about the ten payment plan preventing all the tickets from being available immediately. Then I called ticket office and raised hell because they hadn’t sent my tickets out as of last Wednesday. They weren’t going to send until today. I was helped by a student who knew nothing but was very nice. However , she had to put me on hold at least 5 times in the conversation to ask her manager for answers, she had no knowledge of the process , and no authority. Was very frustrating since it was my fifth phone call, where first four went unanswered and unreturned since August.I finally did receive my tickets Friday.

Reading the last bunch of posts makes St. John's appear to be a joke. Not that there is anything wrong with that. As to my own recent experience I gave up after calling 3 times during business hours and each time getting a recording that told me to call back during business hours. Yeah sure, OK.

I was going to try to get to a game when in for the holidays, but after reading these horror stories, a Stony Brook game may be easier.
HAve tickets been sent yet? I'm paid in full but haven't received anything.
I don't want to tell St. John's how to run their business, but seeing as you were recently praised on this board for a sizable donation, you should have had them by now. Considering the distance between campus and the town where I think you live, a school like Stanford would have sent someone to your house with them.
