Scrimmage vs. Rhode Island
It is hard to believe that Heron could play and shoot so bad against a weak time,I know they are decent but what does he do against Nova and or Duke etc
Oh my

Honestly as someone who is very critical at times, we should have won the scrimmage and it's concerning that we didn't...however I'm sure Heron just had an off day. Even the best players have a really bad game or two at least. IMO if he doesn't look solid against Maryville (exhib) then I will start becoming concerned. I expect us to throttle them. Someone asked me what my objective definition of "throttling" was. 20 pts+

This thread is coming close to unreadable like many often do on this site.

Now we are worried about Heron, a 5-star top-20 recruit out of high school and the leading scorer on a co-SEC champ team last year, because he had an off day in an October SCRIMMAGE.

Sorry, but some of the stuff you read on here is beyond laughable.

Oh my
Heron will be a primary piston of the Johnnies in 2018-19. An off night is an off night. Period. Plus Clark didn't play well either.
We would've won if both had had 'normal' games.
It happens the other way as well.
We play insane and beat Nova and 'Quette twice each and humble Duke at Cameron.
Now, you know I'm delusional...but just trying to make a point.
Let's go Johnnies.

Seriously???? I really hope you were being sarcastic.

Because Heron has never played against good teams when he played at Auburn the last two years (where he averaged double figures both years and was their leading scorer last year) in the SEC (Kentucky, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, etc.

went through Heron's shooting stats the past two seasons. He had one really bad shooting game going 1 for 9 in a win over South Carolina in March. Never took "too many" 3s except two seasons ago went 1-7 (3-13) in loss vs Temple otherwise usually efficient, not great from 3. Good shooter overall and almost 50% from 2 last season. I think he'll be at his best with another guy opening up the floor for him and good ball movement but I doubt we'll see any stinkers like that.

Very good point. If I was coach, I'd sit him the first few games until he proves he can shoot. If that's not until BEC play, then so be it. I'm not sure how he even averaged 16 plus a game in the SEC. I'm guessing fake box scores.

If you ever coached before you certainly don't worry about winning a scrimmage. You get a better look against a decent team then the boring scrimmages against each other. And to think we are already criticizing our kids. Take a valium please.

One freaking scrimmage dude.

I know it was a scrimmage and one game
my pt was it is hard to believe that a talented player playing against lower talent to go I don’t know was it o for 10 thought he would have been up for the first not matter even if it was a scrimmage l am sure we wanted to win.Perhaps he might have had a problem

Clearly you haven't played a sport in a long time

Steph Curry went 0-11 from 3 in a game last season, maybe the Warriors should've released him

Lmao!

Personally I'm not concerned about Heron in the slightest. He's already proven, and isn't coming off an injury. For a newcomer, he's the absolute best case scenario any team could ask for.

I'm concerned about the team's defense, but definitely not Heron.

To late I saw it lol look just was expecting more from a5* player out of the box Did not say he wasn’t going to be a very good player It was not critic of his skills But never hide anything from me,I can take it lol
