Rysheed Jordan

Interesting comments about his NBA potential / future draft status
Note that they listed him as a freshman ... LOL
But their comments are on point

He obviously has talent & physical skills. All I ask is for him to emulate Harrison's non stop dedication to win, play team ball & maintain his concentration. Imo, his nonchalance is an impediment to his progression and team's success this season. For the amount of time he gets here, SJU deserves that. Not being harsh, but his too often loose play is something he must & can control. I know he is only a Soph, but come on Sheed. Btw, I enjoyed & appreciated Keady's post game comments about the logic of giving him a message when he gets sloppy.

Part of me fears he is going to taken 20 shots a game next year if he stays.

Hopefully he takes the advice that the best way for him to get to the next level is as a point guard, imo. He has decent size for the point.

If Jordan puts his mind on facilitating the offense first and foremost, it is a win-win. He becomes a better player and SJU becomes a better team.

I hope he's smart and does stay. He's every bit of 6'4, makes poor decisions because he does not think like a PG. He must become a much better free throw shooter esp because he does/can get to the line.

He is so talented that when you see just a scintilla of his talent in short burst you realize on talent alone he is heads and tails above his teammates.

However, possessing talent and harnessing that talent are two different things, and at this point in the season is no better than our 3rd our 4th most valuable player.

If only we had player development coaches.

Oh wait.....................

Zach vexed I guess;

@NYPost_Brazille: St. John's walk-in Myles Stewart has joined the Rysheed Jordan club in being unavailable to the media.

@NYPost_Brazille: Meanwhile, I've spoken to top freshmen Karl Towns, Jahlil Okafor and Isaiah Whitehead. But a walk-on if off limits. #sjubb

Ten years ago the NBA drafted players mainly on production with some consideration on potential. That strategy seems to have flipped. Leaving CA last night I felt that if the players didn't wear numbers and no PA system there would not be an NBA scout alive who would have picked Jorden and OB as the two future pros on the court. Future pros used to be expected to show some dominating characteristics vs mid majors.
OB has shot blocking skills and that is it. He is too short and too light to play center and has very poor shooting and passing skills to play forward. Jorden looks like he could be a good college player at times, other times he looks like the third or fourth best guard on his team.
And yet they might be drafted. Mind boggling. Sampson making Philly will hurt this program for years. If they don't enjoy college and are willing to play in some foreign country ok but NBA no.

Someone isn't sending Lavin a Christmas card....................

This is surely a move by Lavin to stop the pending Myles Stewart to enter the nba draft threads that will pop up from paranoid redmen.com members soon

Don't know what to make of sheed retweeting this tweet

@nicholas_nigro: Is Rysheed Jordan in lavins dog house? Haven't seen him on the floor in a while. #sjubb

Just retweeted this too

@HowieKussoy: 8 mins into the game, still no Rysheed Jordan. St. John's up 13-10

I would guess that a girlfriend or other type of confident has his Twitter account/phone and thought they were doing him a favor. (pretty stupid otherwise)

Jordan for the season has 28 turnovers / 23 assists. He is shooting .263 from 3. Just over 60% from the FT. admirably, his rebounding and assists track are up but unfortunately the turnovers are worse than last season. He's already committed almost half as many as he did for the entire last season. His minutes are also up from last season and his FGA is up significantly. Already has 1/3 of the total attempts made last season.

Unless he had his phone while sitting on the bench, then it wasn't him that actually retweeted it. It was retweeted moments after the original tweet.
My concern is this though. Rysheed doesn't follow either of those 2 tweeters. Secondly his twitter name wasn't tagged in either post. So I guess whoever did retweet it while having his phone had to have done a search specifically using his name.

When the retweet came up on my feed, it was a good 2 hours after the game. DLo and Phil always retweet compliments themselves after the game, it makes me wonder if it actually was sheed

They were well after the game. It happens after each game where mostly PGIV, DLo, and Sheed retweet all of the compliments they get. Sheed usually retweets a bunch of compliments and last night just retweeting those two was definitely alarming for me. It seems like he's upset with his playing time right now.
