Rysheed Jordan

Jordan is most effective when he drives to the basket, he needs to work on his perimeter shooting. Love his length!

I love the way he takes it to the basket. He's our best defender and he is awesome at going over the top of screens--already the best on the team (he just needs to learn when it is more wise to go under, but that is tough for any frosh).

I haven't seen it written yet, but I love him on the offensive glass. Anyone else notice how explosive he is to the ball? We are an average to below average offensive rebounding team--which could become a huge strength as the season goes on--but Sheed really gets after it for a guard.

He's got to start hitting some outside shots soon, though.

Yup he has the ability to be not just a good rebounder for a guard but even a great one. And as you said he is our best defender. His shot will come.

The guy I'm seeing is Marcus Hatten, not Mark Jackson. Jordan has shown, so far, to be a slasher more than a shooter. Above average strength for a guard. A better passer than Hatten, but both good on ball defenders who also played passing lanes well. Marcus a better rebounder. Mark an absolute pure point guard. Jordan looks to score the ball first on the break.

Yes his offense has improved, and he is being more aggressive, but what has jumped out at me is his D. He has such quick hands -his on ball defense is above average.

Jordan is going to be special, I just hope it is not a one and done deal

There needs to be a tremendous improvement in his game to be a first round draft choice.

Jordan is missing today's game to be with his ill mother. Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

I hope the best for Sheed's mom and that Sheed will have some good people around him during this time to keep him focused as it looks like he has major "life" responsibilities.

All the best to that young kid.

And hats off to Lavin for putting family first.

This is not good for the young man as well as St Johns. If something should happen to his mother being the oldest child he will feel a sense of responsibility for his family, both emotionally, as well as fiscally. Money will in all likelihood become most important which will impact his decision regarding staying in school or opting for the draft. I do not have a good feeling about this! Does anyone know if he has a father, and if so does he reside with the family?

Stay classy, rcatalano.

Right now, we should be thinking of his family situation first, and that's it. That's more important. All the other stuff will play itself out.

Of course his family comes first and foremost 82. I am just verbalizing what may occur and if it does I fully understand RJ' dilemma. These are real life issues that sometimes affect recruits.
