Rutgers game thread

on a positive note watching Moe lately dont see how he possibly leaves for the NBA after this year hes not ready he needs 1 more year

very ugly loss.. shows a lot of warts as a team,i.e. foul shooting, awful defense.. poor box outs from harkless, gg, all game

Rutgers is equally as bad.. Lavin better get a shooter next year.

Agree we need another shooter, but the defense is the product of a 6 man scholarship roster.

Pointer Garrett and Greene will be superb defenders next year

coming out of a timeout the play was to shoot a 3? i don't understand that! Moe should of touched the ball and took it to the rack

I never like taking a 3 when you only need a 2 to win, but lets not jump on them for taking a 3. We dont know what play was called, maybe they took away the initial play and we had to 'settle for the 3".

This game was lost at the FT stripe. Cant shoot under 45% and win, although they almost did. This is the second game that our FT shooting lost a game. The first being Texas A&M. However, there is alot to take from the last 5 games. Amir is becoming a nice option offensivley and GG had 2 good games in a row.

However, what we lacked all season bit us again tonite. Lack of another outside shooter and rebounder. On Millers put back Mo got a little to close to the basket, but actually our Defense on that play was good and it mad rutgers take a forced shot which caused for the lack of weak side rebounding.

With the regular season being over, i want to first say that i am very proud of this team. Playing the majority of the season with 6 men, they did an unbelievable job. Wins and Loses dont show the true grit and determination of this team. Hopefully we can get a win against Pitt and a chance to play gtown again.

This might have been the most fun i have had watching a st johns team play in a long time.

Thank you, to the players and coaches.

This one felt worse than Villanova
Now Pitt of their largest point output of the season
with Gtown waiting if a miracle.
Only themselves to blame

Don't like Pitt matchup...Nova is much more beatable at this point

And yet they finished right where the coaches thought they would, except the coaches thought they would have had Pelle, Sampson and Lindsey. And they finished ahead of Nova and Pitt. Hell they finished with A BETTER RECORD than Nova.

Complain all you want. But a six-man team in one of, if not the best conference in the country, was thisclose to being 16-15, 8-10 and tied for ninth in the conference.

We don't know for a fact that that was the play Dunlap drew up. Even so, looked like Harrison had a poor sense of time and score. Looked like he had 1 more second to step in and shoot, and there still would have been time for a rebound put- back.

I see it all the time in CB now with coaches calling TO's to set up plays in the last few seconds. Sometimes I think it is better to just let the offense go, doesn't allow the D to fully set up and sometimes you can get something easy. I guess it is a double edged sword if you dont call a TO people will second guess. If Harrisson makes the shot coaches look like genius. But what are you gonna do, he missed and Rutgers closed it out. Next year they dont lose this type of game. 100% certain about that.
