Robbins - Harkless turning pro

 Lavin tweets:

They understand that either outcome will clearly help the Johnnies' cause as we continue to build our basketball program. #stjbb

Moe and his mother Rosa know, regardless of what his ultimate decision is, we enthusiastically support them. #stjbb

Naturally the discussions covered the pros and cons of leaving St. John's to pursue his dream of playing in the NBA. #stjbb

Moe and I have had a number of productive conversations over the past four days. #stjbb

I think he should stay 1 more year and hope he doesn't get cooked out of the 1st round.

That being said I wish him nothing but the best whatever his decision is and he was a lot of fun to watch this year. I just really hope he goes in the 1st round

We as the fans have little control over it, I am sure we all want one more year and one more year would make him a lottery pick. But we have to move on no matter what his choice is. It is just ashame what happened to the team this year because if we had everyone who had been recruited, we would have been top 25 maybe top 10 with ncaa championship aspirations.

After reading Moe and Nate tweets and factoring in Lavin's odd references yesterday, I am prepared for his leaving.Hope I'm wrong.

robbins owes me a beer that i spilt upon reading this. I am praying for one more year

if everyone qualified Moe would not have played 40 minutes per game, inflating his numbers, and no NBA interest IMO. that said, he is neither physically nor mentally ready for the NBA and he will be eaten alive in the the tryouts. he may make some $$ but nowhere near what he could make next year. if having an NBA contract and being relegated to the D league is his goal, good luck to him.

Whatever happens with Harkless and recruiting living through another year like this one will be difficult for all. Not competitive 2 years in a row will tough sledding, Shrinking fan base, bad press and bad basketball will clearly stink.

Man I hope we don't have another 2011-12.. It was like a bad dream.... Wishing Coach all the support and luck we can muster..

And, if Harkless goes, good luck Man.. Wish I could have seen him play another year though..

Oh well...

When Lav signed Jason Kapono, he had future Lotto pick Jerome Moiso, McD All America JaRon Rush, future 10 year NBA pro Matt Barnes, future 15 pt Bruin Wing Billy Knight, future SJU Assistant Rico Hines already on the roster. Kap played 33 minutes a game, leading scorer as his team went to the sweet 16....

Miixed emotions as a young man transitions from college to the NBA. Ultimately seeing others realize a lifelong dream is as good as it gets!

Nice to see you post again! Hope you are feeling better. Big difference between that Bruin team and our 2 man team. The star of this season's team was supposed to be a different one-and-done by the name of Nurideen Lindsey. Had Pelle and Jakarr also played, Moe's numbers would have been much lower and would not have attracted the same attention. Our unfortunate year elevated his importance to the conjecture that he is a first round pick. Only one NBA team sees him going in the first round so his decision could be both a gamble and costly. College players can be replaced in a year or two but a kid gets a chance to be a lottery pick only once. In the long run, it could cost him millions of $$. Not sure how much you have watched Moe but physically he is not ready.

Good Luck Moe!
He was a joy to watch this year. I wished he stayed but there is so much money at stake. One wrong move and poof he could get hurt like Rubio did yesterday. If that happens with Moe, the money would go away.
Can't blame him
Lavins tweets sure point to him going pro.

Can't blame any kids for going pro, the money is too good. Seems NBA goes by potential and Moe has plenty of that. Good Luck to him.

AND THEN LAV TWEETS:

Regardless of Moe's ultimate decision he is a very thoughtful and intelligent person with a BRIGHT future in basketball.

Moe has not even sat down yet to get feedback from the "friends" in the business to see where he may be drafted and Lavin keeps sending these tweets! All Moe has to do is not sign with an agent and wait for the draft deadline to withdraw if he is not a first rounder. Lav needs to cool it!

With the new NBA labor agreement, a player must decide by April 10th, if he declares for the draft he cannot pullout. So theree is no more testing the waters u are either in or out.

April 10th is a month away! This is all premature. Does anyone have the stats on how many 2nd round draft picks stuck with the team that drafted them?
