RJ Luis

I’ve been playing the game of basketball since I was 4 years old . Played in tournaments and leagues all across New York City and Long Island . I was a gym rat at Alumni hall , and then Taffner when it was built . Pretty much all I do is watch basketball

Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that another half Ecuadorian like myself would be getting these types of accolades.

For it to be happening at my Alma Mater on top of everything ! This is truly beyond special . RJ Luis put the work in to get to where he is . Congrats to RJ Luis and his family on all fronts . God bless

Great post! Luis deserves all the accolades he's getting and absent getting an offer he can't refuse from the NBA can't imagine there's anywhere else he'd rather be.

Gotta love all the bandwagon jumpers who went from RJ critics to big supporters overnight. If you did not see the talent, his effort, his value to the team defensively as well as offensively through his rare mistakes then you really don’t understand the game itself. Congrats RJ on a fantastic and most memorable season.

I've been team RJ all along, but this is just silly, Silly. Opinions can change. Someone posted earlier in the season "Marillac is the only one that likes Ayo" and now 2/3's of the forum loves the kid. Happy to make space on that bandwagon. If you were an early fan of RJ, make room.

Also, you don't appear to have been THAT big of a fan since you only had him average 16-18 combined points and rebounds this year in the pre-season poll. Marillac and the rest of the Dirty Dozen had him over 18.

Great stuff as usual Cesar. NY post better make room for another superfan!

If you go back it was myself and a few others (don’t remember you as one) who defended RJ through last season. I saw more to RJ than just his scoring. His defense rebounding , quick hands and his ability to anticipate passes. What’s silly is basing the value of a player purely on his ppg average. I expected the team to do well but expecting him to average more then 16-18 ppg could imply a one man team, ask Eric Dickson.

In terms of opinions changing, that’s nonsense on this site. The same people feel the same way but are too embarrassed to show their true colors with his confirmed and documented success. POY, MVP says it all. Congrats to a fine young man and great representative of St. John’s.

I will give you props for Ayo who kept us in the Creighton game early on.

Need your address to send you a medal I guess. Congrats!

You and Luis share a bond. That is awesome Cesar!! And you did say last year he will be a first round pick. When all is said and done you will be proven right.

Luis is such a great athlete and has developed his game so much this season but Cesar said this early last season.

Not to detail this thread about sigep09 but for those that never met Cesar I encourage you to meet him. He does a lot for the school and team that many are not aware of.

I vote sigep09 Cesar as the next super fan article to be written. This guy exudes passion unlike any other fan I’ve met. And that includes myself who I think is a huge fan.

But not apparent enough to you to vote him 18 and over combined points and rebounds😉
For someone who was way off on your assessment of Danis Jenkins, all of last season, you have a lot to say as the old “people who live in glass houses mantra applies here”. Think how good this team could be going forward with a shooting guard like Danis who you trashed the entire season.
