He is the reigning Big East Player of the Year. No brainer to want RJ back. We don't have anywhere near the success we had on court this year without him.After almost getting over our poor performance v Ark, I have my RJ thoughts in order;
I want him back big time and hopefully he and Pitino will meet to clear the air if need be. Since I don’t feel RJ is pro ready or get first round $, hopefully Rick can articulate an off season development plan to maximize his pro opportunities post 25-26 season. Rick noting his poor stats in presser to me was unnecessary and counter productive.
I have to assume Rick wants RJ back. There is no doubt other programs are angling to add him and unless he turns pro, I think it prudent to to work out things. Just my two cents.
Concur on hero ball point.He is the reigning Big East Player of the Year. No brainer to want RJ back. We don't have anywhere near the success we had on court this year without him.
For the best of this team and his standing in the mind of pro scouts, though, RJ needs to get rid of the 1-on-3 hero ball.
i would be stunned if Rick and RJ are not already talking. Rick knows RJ better than we do, but as always there are other factors to RJ's decision, family and $$$.After almost getting over our poor performance v Ark, I have my RJ thoughts in order;

The Rick plan for RJ has to be "we are going to work on your defensive fundamentals and wing shooting. 3 and D wings are what the NBA wants. Nobody has any questions about your athleticism, so let's limit the drives to the rim to run--outs and iso plays where you have a size advantage."
If the team-wide offense is upgraded then they shouldn't need to rely on "let RJ be RJ" to score points. It should be a win-win situation for both sides.

More than anything RJ needs to create his own shot on the perimeter. He’s very limited there imo
I would be stunned if RJ returns after getting benched by his coach in the biggest game of his life.i would be stunned if Rick and RJ are not already talking.
All indications are that family loves Rick and it's pro or coming backI would be stunned if RJ returns after getting benched by his coach in the biggest game of his life.
Nah....it's sports. Emotion causes difficulty and people get over it. RJ and his family know that Rick and this program have been instrumental in his growth.I would be stunned if RJ returns after getting benched by his coach in the biggest game of his life.
Then my guess would be pro.All indications are that family loves Rick and it's pro or coming back
I would be stunned if he went with another college team. It would be so risky from a development point of view, given that Pitino and coaching staff are deeply familiar with his game and know what he needs to do to take it to the next level. Repole I'm sure will make sure he has the $$ to match other colleges. Could he go pro? Maybe.I would be stunned if RJ returns after getting benched by his coach in the biggest game of his life.
If you want to go pro, it helps to be drafted.I would be stunned if he went with another college team.
