Ridiculous take here. Down 2 pts with 5 mins to go. We literally had every chance of winning even with how poor we were playing. When no one can hit an open shot, spacing on the floor changes dramatically. Literally we had no shot at winning.

Could not agree more! Love these guys!RJ had a bad night caused by some habitual tendencies. No one feels worse than him.
I made the trip to Providence and was hoping for a deeper run. As deflated as I feel right now, I feel worse for RJ because my gut tells me he is taking it especially hard.
May be recency bias and perhaps the fact that we get greater online access to their personalities via press conferences, but I think RJ (and Zuby) may be the 2 most likable Johnnies during my 50 years as a season ticket holder.
I’m sure Pitino will in a year or longer will say he made a mistake for not putting Luis back in the game.Ridiculous take here. Down 2 pts with 5 mins to go. We literally had every chance of winning even with how poor we were playing.
That was a deliberate bullshit comment on my part. We were outscored 11-4 without him.Ridiculous take here. Down 2 pts with 5 mins to go. We literally had every chance of winning even with how poor we were playing.
Nutty world
Missed the ads (I almost never watch commercials intentionally) ...what was the context of them?FanDuel, the number one sportsbook in the United States, ran not one, but two negative ads featuring RJ Luis, right after our loss. This is a big business, and these guys have no mercy.
If the players want to be paid like professionals, they’re going to have to take the hits like professionals. I don’t like it- I love RJ. But When the NCAA decided it was OK to start paying the players, and big-time gambling on the games was legalized at the same time, this was the inevitable result.
I agree, it is totally uncalled for to criticize the players on the team you root for and like to think it wasn't anyone from here that contributed to him shutting down social media. That was a deliberate bullshit comment on my part. We were outscored 11-4 without him.
I don't second guess anything Rick does. He isn't perfect, but he may just be the GOAT. 31-5 in year two, with a program that the ladt 4 coaches left in shambles.
Yesterday RJ deleted his instagram account because of all the stupid, hateful, negative comments directed at him.
You guys really think you are posting expert analysis by trashing a kid because he had a bad game? You don't think for a second that the players and their families read this garbage and it hurts them?
It sucks to lose. I get it. I'm as invested and as passionate as anyone. I was already fully booked for SF, and had we won Saturday would have booked San Antonio yesterday.
All week I told people I wasn't going to get too excited about Providence. Been there, done that. I told anyone who asked, "I won’t get too high, or too low"
It's all just really sad. Not the game. Just the stupid stuff.
They were social media ads. One was entitled “You know why he didn’t play”. The other was “Should he transfer?”Missed the ads (I almost never watch commercials intentionally) ...what was the context of them?
Oh wow.. that's awful. They were social media ads. One was entitled “You know why he didn’t play”. The other was “Should he transfer?”

They weren't ads, just social media posts to boost engagement. But still terrible taste imo
On x, it says "paid ad" next to it. As far as I can see, it doesn't say that."Social media posts to boost engagement" are also known as ads. They get millions of views.
The difference tho is he never faced a team as athletic, strong and tall as Ark and when his go to move didn't work he wouldn't adjust. The irony is RJ was reckless driving with the ball all year. It was rarely mentioned but he was scoring and we were winning.
What I meant by ad was that these large companies have paid staff whose only job is to generate social media posts that will engage --in the case of RJ Luis, inflame--their audience. I guess technically you could call it "promotion" rather than advertising, but either way, they are spending lots of money on these posts in an effort to get as many views as possible. On x, it says "paid ad" next to it. As a marketing person i can tell you that still doesn't make it an ad. Social posts are free. Social ads are not. Two different departments with different goals. What I meant by ad was that these large companies have paid staff whose only job is to generate social media posts that will engage --in the case of RJ Luis, inflame--their audience. I'm sure the CFO of your company would not consider the social posts "free" - unless the staff doing them are volunteers. As a marketing person i can tell you that still doesn't make it an ad. Social posts are free. Social ads are not. Two different departments with different goals.
Yeah, that’s why you don't let finance and admin anywhere near the areas where the work gets done.I'm sure the CFO of your company would not consider the social posts "free" - unless the staff doing them are volunteers.
But yes, as I said, I should have use the term "promotional social media posts generated by paid staffer looking to engage pissed off St John's bettors" instead of "ads." LOL
