RIP Coach Carnesecca

Condolences to his loved ones.
Those are iconic photos of Lou.

It certainly was a nice tribute. I don't how many newer fans remember the Maven who produced a number of episodes of Inside the Big East back in the day.
He has had some bad luck of late ...... getting hit by car and now hospitalized after a fall. Prayers for you Maven.
Get well, Maven.

Lou Carnesecca tribute on Big East Rewind podcast with Billy Goodwin, Bill Wennington and Ron Stewart. Hosted by Chuck Everson and Sonny Spera

Thanks Ken. This is amazing. This is the first time Ive seen or heard from Goodwin since he left here and didn't know he lives in France (as does Stewart). I saw Bill W and Ron at the wake. I remember Everson at Nova and didn't realize he is a Brentwood guy and lifelong friend of Stewart. One of the best interviews about coach without question.

You’re welcome Sal.
Chuck and Sonny do a great job interviewing former players/coaches regarding old school Big East days. If you do a search on their past videos, you’ll find a sit down interview they did with Lou in his kitchen. Also other SJU interviews they’ve done include Walter Berry, Goodwin, Stewart, Shelton Jones, Willie Glass, Wennington, Jeff Allen, Billy Singleton, Matt Brust. All fantastic zoomcasts.

You know what guys Billy, Bill and Ron are but Chuck fits in with them based on my interactions with him when I would run into him at youth basketball tournaments (our kids played) and at the wake.

The St. John’s and Nova guys of that era got along with each other.

Chuck has a lot great stories he’s shared about his Brentwood days with Stewart. Also Chuck mentioned he has a daughter that goes to St. John’s.

Honestly, I am an old timer and don't recall much about Chuck Everson or Sonny Spera in their playing days.

I get a huge kick out of their old stories and the Big East ReWind videos, they do a fantastic job and seem like genuinely nice guys.

Pretty sure Spera was a 6'5 G while Chuck was a 6'11 C
Spear was a 6’5” PG who actually played more his freshman year than his remaining three years. He played behind Eugene Waldron and then both Pearl Washington and Waldron (Waldron moved to SG when Pearl arrived to take on the PG role but Waldron would take over PG duties whenever Pearl went to the bench).
