Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

What if they build a 20k seat arena, and state of the art practice facility on the S.I campus.
Would that work?

Probably not since people wouldn't want to go to S.I.
Just a suggestion.
would not work--location for fan base is not conducive to Staten Island campus and I had most of my classes there along with being a grad asst.

One place not mentioned on the Queens campus is DiSilva Field; decent size property that would allow CA/Taffner to remainstanding during construction and basically only have to find space for women's track team for 2 years

With the proceeds from the Staten Island campus plus a little cooperation from the stock market our endowment could exceed 1 billion!
Thought someone previously posted that while SI campus is closing, SJ is not in a position to sell the property. I don’t recall whether it was a case of SJ having been granted the right to operate the school on the property and that, perhaps, we didn’t own the property.

Could be wrong

this tweet was not from Zach.
You are correct. It showed up on my FB feed and I just assumed that since it's on FB, it must be true! ;) I'm going to delete it. Thanks.

Update. Never tried deleting a post before and didn't realize I can't do it. So I would appreciate any mod deleting my post citing a tweet from Zach as it was not true. Thanks.

Nope I've given the mjmaherjr vow. No heat complaints ever if we get Pitino and same goes for beer lines. Take that to the bank just wont bring it to silicon valley bank

As part of the SJU negotiation team Father Stanley should include an architect, engineer and interior decoator to meet Rick's concerns about the status of facilities. MJM--your A/C issues could be addressed if Rick looks around CA on a hot day.
I guess you missed the memo, MJM doesn't care about the AC if Rick signs on. :) ;)

Dont know this guy on twitter but this was just posted....

Have no clue, but think the buzz about Mike Repole stepping up is the $-green-$ flare in the blue sky over St. John's: Rick's coming.

I take it you live somewhere in Florida and have no idea that soon there will be no S.I. campus.
If there ever was a new arena on campus it would be located where the student union and adjacent parking lot are located across from the baseball field.
