Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

Think it's going to have to be Masiello for at least one season, since, until we hear otherwise, I believe Rick will do one of those pre-season fall retirements.

Not this fall, thankfully.

Respectfully and it’s just my opinion but That’s impossible . Doesn’t make sense. Rick has proved now he can thrive in this environment. When he’s ready to go he will know. This is his grand finale legacy and perhaps his greatest work ever when it’s over. Stop worrying about it !

I like Massiello. He deserves a shot if Rick thinks he has what it takes.
There is someone who posted years ago and may still be on the board under a new name. Love Masiello and wanted him to be hired years ago. Can’t recall who it was. I recall he was big on coaches wearing suits. LOL

Won’t happen imo and imo we should just enjoy the hell out of Rick’s tenure here. Hopefully that success translates to a number of gifted candidates who crave this newly defined job. The days of Pat Kennedy, Matt Doherty, Paul Hewitt, etc. walking through that door are over. Big NIL supporters, one in particular, will have some influence relative to their desire for sound return on investment. I’m done commenting about “when Rick leaves” until he indicates it is adios time. Go Johnnies, beat UConn.

Brilliantly said. The only thing I want to hear about Rick leaving is walking out of MSG Sunday after kicking Hurleys ass again

Our high bar is Rick's low bar.

We are thrilled to have a season like this. Maybe the best in 40 years, definitely 25 years.

But for Rick, he's playing for all the marbles, not Monopoly's $10 for second place in a beauty pageant.

I told Rick what you just wrote before he coached a single game here. He didn't flinch. Maybe because he thought I was full of crap. But maybe because that was his goal, to not just have a great season, but to cut down the nets at the final four.

If he does, it won't just be for St Johns and our fans. It will be for the greatest city on earth, in the greatest city on earth, in Macy's window as Looie liked to say.

Do you know what Michelangelo did at 72? Despite having no backround in engineering or architecture, he was asked to finish the cupola at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. What others had tried and failed to do, this sculptor and painter completed perhaps his greatest achievement, what many before him and around him thought was impossible.

I know it's just a game with a round leather ball going through a peach basket, but it sounds familiar - a man in his 70s doing what all Johnny fans thought was impossible - and he's not done yet.
