None of this happens without the hiring of this man. None of it.

BTW-Remember last year when everyone peed down their leg after his comments about his players lack of athleticism? Seems like a decade ago...

Don't want to look past Providence, need to stay focused.

But I was thinking the Tuesday night game vs Marquette which could be the biggest game at the Garden since when?

I was thinking 1999-2000 season vs 1st place Syracuse on a Saturday night in February Reggie Jesse with a late putback won it 76-75. The back to back losses in 1999 vs Duke and UCONN on Saturday CBS games.

What makes this most impressive is that this is the first time he is going into a second season with the NIL.

It is much harder to build a system when you cannot know exactly who your foundation pieces are because things change yearly now.

As excited as I am about this season and living in the moment, I can't help but get giddy at what next year might look like off a big run in March. Year 3 with Pitino might be a scary roster.

...especially with the potential of who can return. 👀

Although I do think next year could be "less fun" (at least for some) because of expectations. People weren't satisfied yesterday and we won a non-Seton Hall/DePaul team on the road by 20+ points. lol

Zuby/Wilcher/Dunlap/Ayo/Lefty/Prey/Glover/Maker should all be back. That's 8, leaving room for 5.

Kadary/Smith/Scott will be gone IMO. I think Vince will leave too.

That leaves Luis. He should stay one more year, try to win BE POTY, work on his outside shot, get stronger, become a better all-around player, and then go get drafted in the first round. But who knows with him.

Anyway, back to the topic of the thread - just an incredible job by Rick in Year 2 everywhere he goes. One of the all-time greats.

If Luis comes back, that's a top 10 preseason team. Not even including this purported "top portal class"

Vince clearly getting limited minutes but he appears to have improved

The challenge I see if if you do bring in a "top portal class", how do you convince guys like Wilcher/Dunlap/Glover/Vince/Prey/Lefty to come back without the promise of starting spots or major minutes.
