Do any other college sports have post game handshake lines ?

Where's the NCAA and Conf Commissioners when you need them ? 🤣

I wonder if this is Pitino getting out in front of potential cold post game handshakes with coaches that he's tried to poach players from. Obviously poached Kadary from Sha and rumors were kicking around all summer that he was making a run at Hopkins from PC. Could be totally off since every coach is doing it and it's the nature of the game now but it did cross my mind.

What happens with other BE schools ? Do they follow suit ? Or, does Pitino just communicate with other Coaches and inform them, it’s now St John’s policy

The phrase “sportsmanship “ went out the window with the phrase “student” athlete. It’s a different world we live in.
 
As we lament the fall of decency and sportsmanship, maybe we should be forced to go back and re-read game threads from start to finish. We can easily find a cacophony of things spewed there that lack decency. And all coming from grown men.

While I agree we are losing basic sportsmanship, our fan behavior is assisting in its immolation.

Kranmars just moved to the word use hall of fame !! For using a word " cacophony " only used 5 other times on redmen.com/Redfans in the last 22 years. Making 114 more intelligent than our normal game time curse fest
 
I wonder how much Rick likes this job and is interested in the future of the program. Not playing psychologist, but he appears chronically frustrated with his players, the team as a whole and seems predisposed to taking public pot shots. The new NIL/transfer era understandably may be eating at him as well as he implied yesterday.

I was thrilled to get a HOF HC to turn around a once proud program and make it relevant again. My hope was in his short tenure he could make some Dance noise a year or two and make the HC position here appealing to a successor. Father Shanley gave Rick a great opportunity here with solid compensation and a chance to be in the spotlight again v being in the MAAC, a one bid league with its Tourney in Atlantic City. I leave micro critiques of his coaching decisions and strategies to others with experience and am simply noting a concern that, if your are miserable in a leadership position, it next to impossible to motivate others. Hopefully I am jumping to a conclusion that does not hold water.

Goes both ways. Pitino publicly said he wants to stay and "not quit". If anything, I think he may be reinvigorated by the challenge of both NIL landscape and new generation of players. He knows to cement his legacy as a potential GOAT of the sport, he has to win here.
