A sad indicator of the state of our society today.
Anyone know if something specific happened after one of our games?
I will add that we see plenty of issues occur on the handshake line around the sport. I understand missing it in some ways, but I wouldn't want to lose a player for a game or two due to a scuffle after a game is completed either.

Im all for moving the "handshake" prior to Tip... let players celebrate with their teammates- if they have a friend on the other team- greet em if they want... otherwise leave the court... emotions are Raw... these are kids (i know i know... they are Pros now)... but no need for unpleasantries after a 40 min battle...
Hell... I ain't dappin up Goldman... lol

Can you imagine the handshake line in the old Georgetown-SJU games? Kevin Williams shaking Ewings hand post game?

Probably Bryant. There was a post game squabble that started on the handshake line
One of their guards (who fouled out) IIRC, got into it during the game with Smith and Wilcher. I think their Center from Brooklyn also had words with someone. It might have carried over.
Well , I guess the days of good Sportsmanship are over. It’s too bad but, not surprising in the Society we live in today .
It’s been building for years and it’s not a good thing .
And , let’s face it , College sports are now Professional Sports .
I have no idea of what transpired to generate this decision by Pitino but , it’s sad .
What happens with other BE schools ? Do they follow suit ? Or, does Pitino just communicate with other Coaches and inform them, it’s now St John’s policy

Billy Smith never did.
He definitely shook hands with the DeP staff and players and even huddled with a few for a short bit.
God bless him. Battlin’ Billy, the greatest playoff goalie gets a pass because he would be the one guy other players would steer clear from because he would use his goalie paddle, as a good old fashioned a** whooping paddle.
You know the lack of Sportsmanship is only a part of the Society we now live in .
As a example , and as a former life long New Yorker I was driving to Long Island yesterday and had just gone over the Throggs Neck Bridge to the Cross Island , heading to the LIE.
Well , as I passed Northern Blvd , I had positioned myself into the right hand lane , preparing to take the exit to the Expressway . The Exit is only 1 lane and I and hundreds of other cars were dutifully waiting their turn to make the Exit . It was stop and go .
But , what was appalling was the hubris of other drivers who were in the wrong lane to exit but , were blatantly barreling along and just cutting off drivers who were waiting their turn .
It wasn’t just a few drivers either but , more than 75 cars
Not a good look at politeness and manners . But , kind of in the same realm as poor sportsmanship .
What has happened to decency in NY?
