Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

This isn't f'ing hard. Start with the team sports get them to show up as a group. Have the fencing team first row so they don't stab anyone

Then go to the fraternities and have they all sit in a frat section. get them loud

The answer is so fing easy
Since Carnesecca is basically sold out, the athletes from Olympic sports are not gonna sit in the third tier. They need to put them behind the basket in the student section, if they show!

I'm sure he is used to this dynamic. Maybe the portal changes things a little bit. But I'm not concerned.
I actually think this would be what drives him out.

The changing landscape won't be what drives him out like the other older guys and Bennett, because he lives to schmooze and knows a bunch of rich guys.

But if teams now have 20 annoying parents instead of five, that's definitely going to be a problem going forward.

Sounds like Rick hated retirement so I expect the only thing that drives him out is losing or bad health.

Luckily, I think his ego is too big to go out a loser. Unfortunately, that might mean he'd take a job with better infrastructure for a couple years as opposed to riding off into the sunset here with a losing team. 😁

Health also seems good. Still active so if he can coach until he's 80, I'm all in. Plus he knows how to use social media so he doesn't give off old-timer vibes.

I know that we all love it but college basketball just isn't that big a draw for students in lotsa places. Obviously not true at Puke and Nc, but my son goes to an Acc school and a large swath of the student body shows at and is into the football program. Basketball?...not so much.

Outside of Marquette, Creighton and Dayton the rest of the schools that outdrew us last season where big state schools with on campus arenas. We drew pretty well last season and if we play well we will this season as well. Getting the crowd engaged and loud is very important.
