You're killing Redfazed buzz... He wants Pitino to Georgetown SO BAD.... I mean after losing Anderson, this is all he has to look forward to. Can you imagine the disappointment if his favorite team (you know SJU) actually lands Pitino?

I say this again and with no disrespect to anyone but Pitino had his greatest recruiting successes at Kentucky and Louisville whose academics and entrance requirements are similar to St. John's.
Georgetown, like Notre Dame, is a Catholic Ivy. Although they are much more liberal with athletes, those athletes still have to take most of the same courses with kids that scored 1450 on their SAT's.
Even for the great Pitino you have to be able to get the players and keep them enrolled.

I “know some people who know some people” at G’Town. Does that make me any more informed about where Pitino is ultimately going than anyone else? No. But I can tell you with absolute certainty that there are some very pissed big donors there about what’s going down with that search. Think SJU and Repole 4 years ago.
