Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

I'm sure Masiello is a fine asst coach. But hiring him as HC post Pitino would be a huge mistake. It would guarantee 4-5 years of mediocrity and undo the prestige built over the previous 5 years of success. Would be stupid to capitulate to that demand and stupid to make on the part of any coaching candidate

I have to imagine when all is said and done it's more about Mas guaranteed an interview/first crack at job when Pitino retires than it is about 100 percent guaranteeing him the job. Even Rick would know that would be sticky. He wants the job badly, but that still doesn't mean he won't fight for every inch during the negotiations.

It's expected that St. John's gets no respect after 23 mediocre--or worse--years.
It irks me no end and I seethe but it's no shocker.
The best sentence in Woken's article, though, was: "there's going to be a reckoning when he (Pitino) has his next program in the Top Ten relatively quickly..."
And Woken doesn't mean the Top Ten of 'any' Conference.
He means the Top of the Hill!
Gotta love it!

Yes, the hesitation did cost SJU. If Cooley turns down Georgetown (which appears unilkely at this point) then G'town's big donors will put immense pressure on the Georgetown Prez to hire Pitino.

Not saying Pitino will leave the NYC area. I'm just saying Georgetown admin is going to be under immense pressure to go after Pitino if Cooley says no.

How do you know this? Do you know someone in the Georgetown Admin? You quote Goodman as evidence that Pitino would prefer the Georgetown job then ignore the fact that Goodie already said Georgetown's fallback's were Kevin Keatts and Mike Rhoades and speculate yourself that they would still make a run at Pitino basing that on nothing but your own speculation.

It is like you are trying to wishcast Pitino goes somewhere else so you can say I told you so....
 
Empire State Building should be red Tuesday more games at the garden Rick can win with this team imagine Rick w the team we have and freshman coming in. Plus transfer portal to fill up the pinion and cuerbelo spots
