Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

Like I've said to others, the basketball Gods owe us, big time. Just like the baseball Gods owed the Red Sox. And so, they didn't just give them a world series victory in 2004, they gave them the greatest comeback in playoff history first, and against their arch rivals. Then they gave them a world series victory. Hiring Rick Pitino is a start, I foresee a final four and hopefully a National Championship in the near future.

Like I texted Kranmars before. The next 2 nights are 2 ambien nights for me because I'm so excited this is happening. No need for cold sweats :)
Outside of Lobster Rolls and IPAs - dont think I have seen so many posts with such conviction on one topic from you.... This must mean something...

You think this was true of Anderson from the get go? If so, with the exception of maybe a few posters who also hated Anderson more they love SJU, I didn't see it. Now, as time went on, and fans felt like CMA was not the answer, I could see apathy setting in. I know it did with me.
I am not going to debate this or get into revisionist history. I will continue to root for St Johns no matter who the coach is.

"Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."

Maybe. But Georgetown is the bigger job. If you started a rumor that Ed Cooley was going to leave Providence for SJU, you'd get laughed off Twitter.
It's a bigger job than Providence as well but that does not mean that Cooley is a lock to leave.

The fact is we are not talking about leaving for Kansas or take SJU, I think u agree Georgetown maybe better but the gap is not very big anymore and with other factors like staying in NY that can close that gap.

as another poster said which i agree. verbal is already done. Like when you make a deal to buy a car over the phone. Before you sign the paperwork want to look at it first. Which is exactly what Pitino said, got to look at the house before you buy it. Which means he already accepted the bid lol just saying looking positive gang

Calipari coaching at GT is about as crazy as Pitino coaching SJU. In all seriousness, Cal making almost 9 Mil per year. The Jesuits ain't coming close to that.
Is he as happy as he can be though? Brings in a top class every year, and fans still want to run him out of town on a rail because he doesn't have 13 straight championships.
